I think I'm done. I'm ready to walk. My dealer is not charging ADM on orders, but is putting $20k on abandoned orders. Seems like if I just cancel my order I'm giving them a big freebee. Has anyone tried getting their dealer to pay them to walk away? There was some talk of it early in production, but I'm not sure how that turned out. No VIN, so they can reconfigure the order however they want. I'm thinking $5k is fair. Am I an idiot for thinking this is possible?

If you ask your dealer this question they will magically tell you that Ford won't allow them to do it and they will be in big trouble.

No dealer is going to pay you 5k for your reservation. Just too many variables & risk factors. If any dealer would entertain doing this. I'd imagine the most they would give you would be $100-$500 bucks.

I have a customer at work with a 4dr wildtrack ordered. He said his dealer offered him 5k cash or 10k credit toward a different vehicle to walk away.

Just cancel your order through Ford. If you don't have a vin then it should just go away. If you tell the dealer to cancel your order, then they would probably keep it. Unscheduled with no vin, just call Ford and cancel.

Go in with appearance of needing to buy a different vehicle and see what deal they offer if you buy now and give up the Bronco.

Good point, probably better to wait until I'm actually scheduled in order to maximize the price.

Let me get this straight.

You want a dealership to pay you $5,000 to not buy a nonexistent, unscheduled car that they don't have and you don't want.
Its not that crazy. Ford got me to pay $500 to buy a nonexistent car that they can't build.

Let's use Godfather 101 to describe your situation of trying to sell something that they other guy can just take any time he wants.

Dealer - "Leave the Gun. Take the Cannoli"

You - "Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes"

TL;DR Bada Bing, Bada Boom! No Bronco for you!

Technically Ford got you to pay $100, and it's refundable. You willingly gave your dealer the rest as an insurance of sorts against you doing what you're trying to do...backing out of your order. That was them minimizing their risk. Now you think they owe you five thousand dollars for a car they don't have in the hopes they will be able to sell it at some point in the future for more money. Not even a particularly rare car. Shit, I think Ford built more Broncos in a few months than they did MK3 RS's in their entire production run...

This is why the car market is fucking ruined 🤦

10k credit would be pretty tempting to me.
