Hi there!
I’ve got a line on a cheap set of Badlands takeoffs coilovers. The problem is that I have a 2.3 4 door and the badlands is a 2.7 4 door. Would that be THAT big of a deal?

thanks for your thoughts!

The springs for the BL 2.7 are designed for additional weight of the 2.7. They might level the front out just a little since the 2.3 weighs less. I wouldn’t think ride difference between 2.3 and 2.7 springs wouldn’t be huge. But they will be noticeably different than the base. I’m sure someone has done it and will chime in.

I wouldn't hesitate. IMO probably the most cost effective way to lift as well as upgrade ride quality...the Bilstiens will certainly be an upgrade over the base Hitachis.

I put a 4D Badlands Sasquatch 2.7L set on my 4D Black Diamond 2.3L Manual and it’s totally fine. Might have even leveled it out a bit. But, I also have a winch and modular bumper. Gained pretty much exactly an inch as advertised.

I installed a 4 door Badlands suspension on my 2 door (non-sas) base. It now sits a little higher than a sas version and is pretty close to level sitting on 35"s.

GO for it if they are cheap enough. Should level it out. There's not much difference in the weight or the spring rate.

I've run 2.7 springs on a 2.3, they were a little harsher but if you get a new bumper or winch it will offset that nicely.

Ok I'm going to pull the trigger. I do have the modular bumper so that I hope will help to make up for the weight difference. We'll see. I'll post pics before and after.
