Not sure why anyone would want/need this? With automatic, Badlands with 33s and 4.46 crawls slower than Sasquatch with 35s and 4.7. Ford is not stupid! They chose this gearing carefully to optimize drive characteristics across trims and packages.
You said you don't drive off road, didn't you? Either way, I think someone would want it for two main reasons..one is to future proof it, should you decide to add bigger tires at some point, and be able to get away without re-gearing you will grealty appreciate the taller gears. Secondly, the low end you get is better off road; more usable. You don't want too high of a crawl ratio with an automatic, and don't need it to be super high with the auto, but in this case I think getting a little bit taller gears is advantageous....and that thing will take off like a rocket when pulling out into traffic (maybe that's reason 3)...

On reason #3, going from 4.46 to 4.7 gives a Lower rpm at the wheel, so for a given engine rpm, the re-gearing makes the vehicle slower, which is opposite of what you're saying. This relates to #2. The 4.7 does allow you to crawl slower, but at 4.46 the Badlands w/33s already crawls a bit slower (more usable as you say) than Sasquatch at 4.7. As for your first point on 'future proofing', I feel it is illogical to buy a non-Squatched Badlands with the intent of putting 35's on them later. This is essentially what the Badlands Overland concept vehicle is and the 35s are super cramped in the wheel well because Badlands has a different lift. It makes more sense to simple pay the extra $2500 up front and Squatch the thing from the factory. This will save time, money and headaches in the future and allow you to use the way you want from day one. If you want to go nuts later and put on 37s, then the 4.7 upgrade may not be adequate and you may need to change it again.

Ok, you're going to have to do some research here....the taller gears will increase acceleration. Period. It would make the vehicle slower on the top end, but I was speaking of acceleration and gave the example to illustrate that, and you are wrong. You may think buying a Badlands to put 35s on later is illogical...but LOTS have people have been talking about doing it. A small lift yourself and you're good to go...just stiffer springs would probably work with the stock shocks, we shall see....as far as 4.7 and 37s, it may be okay. Lot's of Jeeps running around with worse gear ratios and 37s, with a weaker motor. It certainly puts you in a better spot than having smaller gears. So, you don't see the need; good, don't buy it. I know you said you're a city dweller who has never been near a truck, but some of us have, and have regeared and lifted, and driven off road before in the mountains; and understand the strengths and weaknesses of taller gears.

I've owned 4 Wranglers (2 Rubicons), 2 LR Defender90s and a 4 Runner all of which I bought new from the dealer, and I've done my share of off-roading.

Like you, I love fast acceleration which is a big reason I'm not going Sasquatch. I do question what you said about having better acceleration with the 4.7. I raced mountain bikes for a while and having a super low gear does not make you faster. Depends on power, torque and other gears in the system. I don't believe you or I have enough information to say a Badlands on 33s with 4.7 will out accelerate the 4.46. If I were to make a wager, I'd bet the 4.46 will run 0-60 quicker. This would be an interesting thing to test!

My guess is there will be a lot of people that want to go aftermarket wheels and 35s rather than pay $2500 for the Sasquatch package. I’m considering it because, even if I stick with 33s at first, I know I will eventually be running 35s

Are electronic lockers standard on Badlands? It says they are included with the Sasquatch package, but I can’t find where it says they come standard on the Badlands.

I'm squarely in the camp of not going squatch and going aftermarket for wheels and tires given I don't like the squatch option, and at $2500 it seems that's what you are paying for, wheels and tires. My preferred wheel/tire package is also $2500, so would prefer not to pay for them twice. My lone reservation is the "high clearance suspension" on the squatch package and what that really entails. Wish Ford would provide some more detail on that front.

I know, late to the party, but you can only get to a 97:1 crawl ratio with the granny low of first gear, the 3.0 t-case and 4.7 differentials. Crawl ratio is the multiplication of first gear, t-case and differentials. So, I guess that's my long way of saying the 4.7 is available with the manual transmission because you the only way a Bronco has the crawl ratio it does it with that combination.

You can't get the Sasquatch with the manual, but the Badlands with the manual comes with the 4.7 differential ratio, so you can get the manual and 4.7, but with the Badlands.
