I just ordered a Starlink Mini an hour ago. This setup would work perfectly for me as I have 2 additional power options on that side.

Would you mind sharing a link to the ram mount and any accessories you used for this?

Does it seem solid so far? Good speeds? Can you get it closer to the roof line?

Thank you!!

I recently dropped to the Standby plan

Text messages go fine. Audio streaming still mostly works. You can make calls with WiFi calling but it isn’t optimal - some drop out. Web sites and map updates such absolutely suck though.

I ran an entire day at work on teams and cloud based integration via edge and chrome

teams would lag video a little and audio was fine

no complaints on standby for me

The Starlink mini is almost touching the roof. It's seems super strong. So far, I have about 50 offroad miles on it and it hasn't moved.

Thank you so much! Just made Christmas shopping for my friend very easy. He's excited to build out a StarLink kit for me.

Pics and install vid for Lucas’s Print Shop case on a TrailRax half rack: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...ni-case-install-on-trailrax-half-rack.101679/

My setup is hardwired in the back of the truck. I have 0 AWG running to a distribution block installed behind the back drivers plastic panel. I cut a Starlink 12 volt cable. It’s just a power/ground so power could go to my distro block. Negative is that there’s no power when the vehicle is off. I should add that I do have this wired into an aux switch, so it is only powered on when I want it on.

in a world where I have much more time I will probably add a switch and run a 12 volt or USB-C so that I can flip the switch from vehicle power to my portable battery when the vehicle is off. I’m so tired of taking those panels off though….

I originally had mine set up in the cab but ended up moving it to my Roam 66L case on the roof rack. I was able to run the Starlink off of my Jackery Explorer 300 and everything was contained in the Roam box, which was nice. However, I was only getting about 6 hours with the Jackery. So I decided to run the power to inside the rear of the Bronco. My current set up is as follows, I have the Starlink in the Roam case strapped to the lid and ran the power cord down the rear of the hardtop in the seam and through the bottom seal of the rear window. I have two options to power it, the first is using the Jackery and as mentioned before, I got about 6hrs with the Explorer 300 and I have an Exploerer 1000 and it last me all day with power to spare. The second way was, I wired up a power port using a Starlink Mini 12v Conversion Kit, both options have worked out well. I installed the conversion kit behind the small removable panel so it would be easy to replace if needed and ran power to the battery. Here are some pictures of the install and a list of parts I used for the power port.

My Starlink Mini arrived a day early!

I've decided to re-think my setup and simplify it a bit.

I'm getting this battery for Starlink.

https://veritasvans.com/product/peakdo-battery/

I can then charge that peakdo battery off of any USB-C.

I have multiple options for that. 30W up front in the passenger seat, 100W off a bluetti in the middle. Or 20W / 100W ports in the rear off a built in battery system in the sub floor storage.

I have the parts to do something just like this. How did you get power to the step up converter? Right now I have the dish on top of my overhead molle, but it doesn't connect very well there.

I ran wire directly to the battery to power the 12V conversion kit.

I used the upfitter wire that’s run to the rear and tied it into switch one. (I’ll probably take it to an accessory circuit to free the switch up.) I have a portable power supply for when I want to run it when the Bronco is not running. The American Adventure Labs Starlink mount finally came and worked perfectly on my DV8 overhead molle.
