Just bought a Big Bend, think has basically the base stereo, sound quality is horrible. Has anyone upgraded speakers, amp, without compromising the whole unit/rest of the screen’s infotainment systems? Live in Houston area.

You are fortunate to have base sound system it's an easy upgrade, but not cheap, to get DSP amp, sub amp, and speakers etc check out diymobileaudio all kinds of decent hardware for sale there.

I have an Audison 8 channel DSP amp and some Hertz 6.5" speakers in classifieds somewhere that would be an excellent starting point saving you $800K out of the gate.

It would be a want haha yes the best is multichannel dsp for speakers and a mono amp controlled by DSP amp for sub. Mount amps on MTI rack..

Get rear pods off Amazon then choose the 6.5 speakers you want. Made a world of difference in my 25 base system

There are dozens of threads on just this - check out @RagnarKon - he has some great posts on it. Really need to define your budget though, it can go from just some cheap speaker upgrades for under $100 to thousands of dollars.

(the plug and play kits linked above are good stuff too)

Here's the Mega-thread on stereo upgrades:
https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/thre...-mandatory-and-functional-amps-removed.61106/

Your choices depend on your budget, how much do you want to spend??
Low buck upgrades start with replacing the dash and rear pod speakers, and maybe subwoofer. Upgrade to 6.5" rear pods if you want.
Do the programming changes with Forscan.
Next level is to add an amp/DSP such as the Kicker Key200.4 for about $250.

I used plugnplaykits mentioned above and worked great. Talked with him a couple of times during installation and he was very helpful.

It’s actually pretty complex and like another user suggested fairly expensive to upgrade your system. First thing is it the B&O center channel sub system or standard 6 speaker. I have 24 Big Bend SAS, non B&O system.
There a number of ways to mod, I would stay away from the kicker 200.4 plug and play system that is out there. The front dash speakers are wired in parallel to the side panel speakers below. So the resistance to these speakers are 2ohms if using factory wiring. I rewired my dash speakers so that they are now 4ohm load. Kicker 200.4 doesn’t drive 2 ohms without overheating. It’s easier to find an amp that drives 4 ohm loads, and factoring limited install space behind the rear cargo side panel and that a sub is totally necessary to complete the upgrade and that you need a DSP to correct sound. Also need Forscan to turn of the factory EQ and send full signal to the outputs, as the rear pods when upgraded to 6.5 coax will not get proper signal until Forscan used. So the pod upgrade isn’t worth much until Forscan is used. I used the Apline PXE C80-88. 8 channel amp with DSP. 50 watts to each 6 channels at 4 ohms. 150 watts for channel 7&8 output to sub. I used a dual voice coil SSV SUB and rewired each voice coil separate to get 4 ohms to each voice coil. I used sound deadening panels from Amazon. The entire result is amazing. I love it!
