Sunrider for Bronco Hardtop - Walkthrough Video

The j hook piece is supposed to pop forward and hook under the bar, then pull the front of the top down the rest of the way as you push the latch up. If it somehow grabbed the bottom of that bar instead of hooking on it there would be massive additional tension when trying to latch or unlatch. If the bar the hook grabs is misaligned I could see that causing an issue unlatching if it’s bound up. I pulled mine off for winter, so I can’t go out and take a picture at the moment.

Going to go out and give it attempt #3 with the top. It latches with about the same pressure as the left one (which unlatches OK). Just doesnt want to unlatch on right side. Will take some photos this time and post if I do experience same issues

So I think I have it now. Best I could tell the alignment of the hook and the mount were slightly angled. Took it apart and could see the first bracket that attaches was not square with the receiving top piece. Loosened bolts, held pressure to keep aligned and tightened. Once re-installed I can unhook the right side if I slightly push "away" from the drivers side while pulling down. Good enough for me.

Since this is resurrected... Installed mine today and It is not flat on side over driver door, see picture. Any thoughts?

Not sure. I would contact Bestop and send them that pic. Mine is completely flat. Installed it a year aho and have had zero issues. And I have taken mine on and off probably 10 different times when I would go topless.

Its not as bad today, will watch it as it settles as it gets warmer. Contacted Bestop as well.

@Southern62 can you email me the picture you posted, I'm not sure who you talked to in CS but the Sunrider for Hardtop for the Bronco doesn't use a z clip, so you're never going to find that lol

Is that the black twill or black diamond material? I have a 2 door Badlands, thinking of buying a Sunrider but I can't get past how the black twill contrasts so much with the gray MIC hard top....there's not alot of pics online of the black diamond material to tell but it looks lighter / might match the hard top better, is yours the black diamond material? IF so, do you have any better side pictures of it you could post?

Black diamond. I keep it garaged most days so I am not worried about fading etc.

I love it especially now that its warming up. Easy up and down. the aesthetic of the line I see seems to be over part of the frame, but honestly, it is not as bad. And it does not leak in rain, nor is it any noisier than the hard top.

@sgkartracer15 and i just installed the Sunrider on my 2023 Wildtrak. Out of the box things looked great until we unwrapped the assembly mounts, as one appears to have a crack (mostly likely from shipping). While I’ve reach out to Bestop about the crack, my husband wanted to continue the install. Everything went great until we went to clip/lock it down. After some digging on the boards we decided to adjust the alignment of the top. That did the trick and we can now easily lock and unlock the top. Now to let the sun try to stretch things out.

Can’t wait to pop the top!

I feel the same way. If they made the Sunrider match the MIC top color (or at least a lot closer) I would definitely get it. It contrasts too much for my liking in it’s current black.
