Add a bull bar and some lights on it to break up/add to the front.
In the front top slot has room for a 20 inch bar. I had a Baja Designs OnX6 someone recommended me but the bracket didn't work with the JCR bumper. I am waiting on an S8.

I won't rock a bull bar because I just drive fast in the desert or Texas trails that are wide open. No reason. Plus I like how 'toned down' but capable it looks.

That front JCR plate is going away as well, just finishing up a custom fab replacement and considering adding a mesh to it in case a bird or something finds that slot at 60mph.

Get a cheap set to leave exposed to the elements for looks, and get a quality functional set to keep with your recovery gear. That way you can have the look without risking corrosion/damage on the ones you'll actually use.

I have a set of GA shackles, never take them off, like the look. I've never noticed any rattles. I'd hardly call $60 an expensive decoration.

My cheap HF shackles don't rattle at all. I just leave them on.

I'm running the JCR Crusader front bumper and it looks a little odd being so slim and close with the shackle mounts sticking out a good bit. I like it for the high clearance but I'm wondering if shackles would add to the look or just look corny. Here are some pics for reference. You can really see it in the 3rd pic.
I wouldn't leave them on all the time if for no other reason than having the bolts seize in place and having a hella time getting them off. Also, if you never plan on actually using them or even being in a situation where you might have to use them, that is classic poser, just like @Tilzbow said. I wish I could talk people out of spending thousands of dollars on stuff they are never going to use in exchange for half the cost--I could be rich, looking at all the fake doomsday preppers running around with their pristine 4WDs with $2,500 roof racks, hundreds in gas tanks, traction boards, etc. on a vehicle they'd hesitate to drive on a pumpkin patch parking lot. đź’€

So, I'm not making fun, but why would you not keep them on? They are like part of the vehicle basically. I went from the shackles on the modular to a JCR winch mount on the modular and moved the shackles out to the JCR, but other than that move, they don't come off. I mean where would I hook my winch hook to?🤷‍♂️

Honestly I just know I might forget them or something and I'd rather have them easy access. I also go back and forth on me liking the look.

Just getting ideas.

wow, tough crowd here. not sure what the sun is going to do to a powdercoated piece of cast/forged steel, but my feeling is shackles are another heavy thing in a recovery bag/box and the truck carries it just fine.

That said, I don't have mine on because i put one on the front mod bumper and it would have rattled like crazy, so until I get some urethane isolators I'll leave it in the recovery box.

A guide at an Off Rodeo scoffed at folks who leave them on.

Said it screams, "Look at me! I off-road".

I tend to think of them as earrings/nose rings. I would never get them (or tattoos), but if other people like it, more power to them. Ain't no skin off my hide. ✊

And if you want some functional ones, consider soft shackels: They're easier to store, don't rattle sitting in storage in the back, and frankly are easier to use.
