HI All,
Finally got a test drive in and was pretty excited. I'll touch on the main stuff that's been covered but had a question. 2.3L was more than adequate (coming from an older jetta), The BO sound system was great as well, ride handled like I'd expect from a jeep/truck and it was definitely more comfortable at 70 then jeeps I've driven, the size of interior seemed right for the size (4 door jeep) which I think is the similar option.

My question - the engine didn't seem smooth, this is almost tough to explain and maybe it was just my model but not even the gear changing the general acceleration just felt a little rough/jerky. Anyone else notice this? maybe it was just because it was new and hasn't been worked in.

Overall very happy with it and the soft top wasn't overly loud.

Update - One item that has been mentioned that I honestly think was the only real miss (not MIC related) in the design is the placement of the far left air vent. It was a pretty hot day and even on high that vent really only got my left hand and was blocked from being effective. Overall the power of the AC was fine and the car cooled quickly on a hot day.

the 10spd is a learning transmission, it learns your driving style over time and adjusts. it can take up to 2k miles to fill the transmission data table.

How does that apply to multi driver vehicles, especially if two drivers have different driving styles?

That's it. I have two 10 spds, and it took both a little time to smooth out.

Thank you! I've seen that mentioned but didn't really recall or know that it meant in practice.

I was about to say but others chimed in. I would guess it is the transmission. I've driven the 2.3L with the manual and it is a smooth engine with good acceleration. The modern automatic that learns your driving habits can be a bit quirky until they have time to learn.

assumption only, the driver with the most miles wins. hardly a satisfying answer but it could be a drive ability issue. when I drive the wife's Escape it seems to hunt gears, she has no such complaints. the Escape 8spd is a learner also.

I was at my dealer a few days ago to change my Badlands hard top to a soft top. They just received a Wildtrak soft top and let me take it out. It drove amazing, I loved it. I did notice the transmission but knew it would correct itself in time. The soft top on the freeway was surprisingly quite and I was glad to change my order. I'll order a hard top when available.

I have done 2 long test drives 2.3 bb, and a 2.7 wt

Auto was horrible lifeless it hadnt learned anything good when i got it

Manual 2.3 was fun and connected this will be my choice with tune.

2.7 engine bay omg what a mess

2.3 engine bay not pretty but much more room

The interior has plenty of room up front for big guys 6 4 245 fit fine

The sasquatch is pretty cool floats over stuff and delivers smooth ride

I was getting kinda ansy waiting so long first hr res ,but i think it will be a fun truck open to all kinds of customization by owners.
Hang in there mic top waiters, rat mt prisoners, mansquatch wanters it will be ok in the end👍
