Thinking of buying a R-Pod 189 to tow with my Bronco

Im thinking of buying a R-Pod 189 to tow with my Bronco. I will have a Basesquatch with a 2.7 motor. The R-Pod UVW is 3075 with a CCC of 779. If I fully load the R-Pod, which I do not intend to do, I would be over by 354 pounds. This little camper has a dry bath and a camper queen bed. Ive never owned a vehicle with this kind of towing capacity and I am just looking for thoughts from folks that have.

You'd be pushing it. Tongue weight alone is already over the limits of the bronco unloaded. Load it up and even more so.

How so? loaded trailer being 3800lb would mean tongue weight is 400-450lb range. How would that immediately push it over the payload on the bronco?

Genuinely confused about this.

Tongue weight, not payload. Payload is 3500. 3800 is over the limit. Tongue weight is 350 pounds. The trailer unloaded is 354 tongue weight.

Ah, forgot about that. That's pretty crazy (in a bad way). I actually never thought about that... Total trailer weight limit is 3500, and tongue weight limit of 350. Assuming 12.5%(split 10-15%) of the trailer weight being the tongue weight, that's a realistic trailer weight of 2800lb.....

even if not higher towing capacity, having increased tongue capacity (while staying with the factory GVWR) would mean now the RP-189 with 354 lb tongue weight is within limits?

Or is there another factor that would prevent this?

350 is max, period. No mater what hitch you have on it. They were just stating adding a vehicle hitch does not change the tow rating of a vehicle in a sarcastic way. If the vehicle could make use of a larger hitch ( being able to support tongue and tow weight ) Ford would have advertised it as so.

How far and how fast? Most vehicles can pull anything for short distance at low speed. Most can pull their own weight. I honestly don't understand the low limits....

This is whey they invented WDH. Either way people forget tongue weight counts against payload. I am going to look at around 2700 dry to start, if I go a little over on payload I can live with that, its more of the spec of the hitch / weight.

Nope. Been discussed ad nauseum in here. Distributes the weight better. If I were to consider towing with mine more than 10-20 mile drive with my boat to the local marina, there would be modifications to several systems. Properly modified, I would be comfortable with 5-6000...
