Thoughts on Safe Deposit Box

I bought it, but didn't install it, I decided I didn't want to use that space as a lock box. I'll be selling mine, pm if interested

Same here…never installed it. Not sure if I’m going to.

I installed mine and removed it. Restricts space too much. Love having removed with organizer installed.

I have one in the console and like it. Like most consumer safes, it will not stop a determined thief with time and pry tools. But it will easily stop an opportunistic thirty second smash and grab, which is what I bought it for.

There are occasions when the G19 must reside in the Bronco for a couple of hours. The “safe” is really small and requires extreme caution in inserting/removing the G19 into/from the safe. I’m slightly envious of the tray with phone charger that’s available. Ultimately it’s a semi secure place to hide what needs hiding. It is absolutely not a place to expect to get to the thing in anything resembling a hurry.

I too bought the console safe but should have bought the cargo safe instead since I put so much in the console that I need access too. Will likely sell to buy the cargo safe.

I installed one - I like it to secure a weapon while away from the truck. I still use the console for small things - I just place them on top of the safe lid (napkins, pens, knife, small flashlight, air gauge, etc).

I see more safes in general purpose vehicles that have the doors off. Have always assumed this was the target audience, but anyone wanting more security could use them.

I use mine constantly and love it. I have the center console and after two break-ins I needed a solution. It works.

I was going to buy one but after looking at the design it's only a top lid and 2 side panels. Since mine will be for a G19 as well I want more security so waiting for a company like Lock'er down to come up with a true enclosed safe.

On a side note I ordered the lock'er down safe for my truck but after 2 months I still haven't gotten it.

I use mine to keep my drugs, murder weapons, my stuff semi secure when the top is off.
Do you take your top off and need to keep small things hidden and reasonably secure? Then get one, if not then don't.
