Coming from the Tacoma world, I researched my tire selection quite a bit. I am more of a fan of E rated tires for off road use as they have a 10 ply rated sidewall. With that said, the tires that come with the Sasquatch package are C rated and I am already looking to replace them. They are good tires and I get why Ford chose them. They look great, are very lightweight(only 52 pounds) and ride well on road being a C rated tire. Obviously they chose these tires for the comfort and MPG of the lighter C rated tire. I get it.

**Big factor is weight for me because I want the best power/MPG/tire strength possible.

I created a list of popular tires that I like and thought I would share. Hard to beat those KO2s as they look great, have a great tread warranty and are lightweight for an E rated tire(at least for this size). I resisted putting them on my Tacoma because they were trendy but finally did. Looks like I may go with them again on the Bronco.

During my research I did find some interesting things. The Goodyear Duratrac 315/70/17 weighs in at 61 pounds according to tirerack.com. Goodyear was the only website that didn’t list the tire weight so I need to confirm this. All other tire weights came directly from each manufacturer's website. It is a D rated(8 ply) tire so there would be some compromise because of the low weight.

A couple of other interesting tires. The Cooper STT Pro are 67 pounds and looks very aggressive for a hybrid tire. The BFG KO2 in 37x12.5x17 are listed at 65 pounds also for those of you who want to put 37s on. The Toyo Open Country MT offers a C rated version which I've never heard of, most MT’s are E rated. They are a great looking tire though, maybe the best and weigh in at 68 pounds. Those would be a great option for those of you who do mild wheeling.

Hopefully this serves as a start for your eventual tire search.

We're going with the 35" Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires on Method wheels once the bronco shows up. Just put on a set of them on our F150 and they work well. Only downside is the weight but can't really avoid that on beefier tires. We went with the Baja Boss over the Ridge Grapplers due to the snow rating. Thus far the Baja Boss seem to kick less rocks up than the KO2s I've had on an F150 in the past. The tires look aggressive, seem to perform well thus far, and ride nice. They're not loud at all.

You should add the stock tires to the list for easy comparison.

Thanks for putting this together! I'm currently trying to decide on wheels and tires, and this will help.

Trendy or not, I've always had excellent results with BFG all Terrains. My only departure has been Yokohama Geolanders and those were also quite good. Honestly, these days, with current technology, it seems like most any all terrain is going to yield pretty good results. I dont think there is enough difference in on or offroad performance to make one significantly better than another in any one area.

That is the setup I'm going with, Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T 35x12.5 17 on Method 703 wheels.. I have K02s on my F250 and like them, but I like the tread pattern on the Mickeys a little more for offroad use. The Method 703 will allow airing down more due to the bead grip technology.

That was the combo I was leaning towards myself. Trying to decide if Bronze would look good on A51.

I'm in the same boat. Will bronze look good on Eruption Green, or, do I go titanium since they are going to get scratched anyway, or, black because of black?
