I'll miss not having an almost classic and having one of the nicest TJ Wranglers around period. It's 97 4.0L, 5 speed Sport with a real 27K miles on it- only two owner (I am the second owner), all original- including paint and top, only aftermarket items 31 X 10.50-15 tires and new Pro-Comp aluminum wheels. It was bought and lived in only 1 town in Florida, absolutely no rust- even none on the drive train.
I'll actually gain gas mileage with the Bronco though and have a better commuter and it will be much better on long trips. The Wrangler is great around town and on the trails- noisy and hard to get past 65 MPH on the highway and with only 15 MPG.
I'll be selling it on my own in Autotrader. It should fetch a few bucks.
This is going to sound ridiculous. But I just discovered the grocery bag keepers (hooks to hold the handle bags) on the back of the rear seats. For 17 years, I had no idea what they were and for 17 years, the bags spilled/tipped on the journey home. This past January, I looped the handle of a bag over the hook - game changer. I had no idea.
Yes, I know I could have gotten M/T, but then I wouldn't have heated seats or proper keyless entry. If I have to take the fob out of my pocket, what's the point...
On the plus side, since I was being forced into the automatic, I talked myself into the 2.7L. Excited for trail speed control!
The handling on my WRX, I love driving it on the back roads here, also the manual transmission I will miss but also want the automatic, I’ve had my fun.
Already sold off my GTI but really miss it on the roundabouts to and from work that the old Ranger doesn't care much for. Good thing is no car payments until the Bronco arrives.
Dragging it out of snow... no
Dragging the belly thru the mud... not really
Working on a stupid sideways FWD engine... nah
Driving with my knee jammed in the dash... probably not
Soul crushing depressing to drive... hard pass
Only things I really see missing is the mpg, nice driving and easy to load/unload little kid from the carseat.
After 265k our old Edge has treated us well though.
Not trading it in for a disposal fee, it is still a good running car. As soon as we get a production guesstimate it is being sold.
I'm running long tube headers, no cats and a Corsa exhaust on my 5th Gen Camaro SS. She's a bit on the loud side lol. I'll miss the way kiddos still get excited and car guys give the nod when she rolls by.
My silverado is just FUN. Sounds great, looks great, super reliable. If it had 4wd I wouldn’t be buying a bronco and would keep it for eternity lol wish the bronco had a v8 for the sounds factor.
