Well guess what sir, Ford Motor Company (who designs and produces the Mustang) has in fact decided that the Mach E is indeed a Mustang. I am going to go with their opinion over yours and in fact, they have the final say.

Guys, let's all take a breather on this. If you don't like it then don't buy it. This by no means is a statement that the Mustang is doomed. I am sure they will still make the original Mustang to please the die hards.

Also, for those who are stating "It's not a Mustang because of A, B, C etc." need to realize this... Ford the creator of the Mustang is calling the Mach E a Mustang. Now granted it is the "Mustang Mach E" but furiously typing away on your keyboard isn't going to change that at this point. Bottom line is the very company who creates the vehicle in debate is calling it a Mustang therefore it is a Mustang by name. However, please do not let this spoil your opinion of the gas option as that is not what Ford is trying to do.

Can’t blame ya Chrispy. I started this thread because the Mach E is almost as important as the Bronco for Ford’s future and they are releasing at similar times. If we were seeing prototypes of it... seems to follow the Bronco prototypes wouldn’t be far behind. But instead it just turned into this absolute cluster.

Ford also planned on calling the Probe a Mustang, but guess what... it wasn’t a fucking Mustang, so the enthusiasts convinced Ford not to... and thank god they did, because in hindsight, it probably would’ve gotten axed with Ford’s disassociation from passenger vehicles, if not earlier

Pretty sure Lee Iacocca or Henry II DiDnT make this steaming pile of shit, because if they did, they would refuse to call it a Mustang. This was all Jim Hackett... you know, the genius who, before running his first automotive company, was in charge of a furniture company

How about this; anyone who is supporting the new crossover must be blissfully unaware of the shitshow that was the late 80s-early 2000s. There were 2 major events that reflect upon EXACTLY what Ford is trying to do here;

1. Ford found that the Mustang was costly because it’s a single-use platform that’s expensive to develop and can only recoup money through 1 vehicle. However, their new Mazda G platform was a low cost, high profit platform that could be used on multiple vehicles rather than just 1. So what does Ford do? They decide to axe Fox4 and build the Mustang on the G chassis. Ford enthusiasts LOSE THEIR MIND and Ford quickly has a change of heart... in 88, the “probe” (which was SUPPOSED to be the Mustang) was introduced on the G platform and 5 years later, Ford debuted the next generation SN95 Mustang, which enthusiasts loved... not because it was fast (lord knows it wasn’t), but because it was true to what a Mustang is SUPPOSED to be
2. In 1999, Ford released the new Focus. Escort fans/owners were pretty nervous because they thought this Focus would replace the Escort, but Ford told enthusiasts not to worry, because the escort would be built alongside the Focus for years to come!

...Then 3 years later the escort was discontinued indefinitely

Jake, I hope everything is alright in your personal life brother. Lot of negativity in that last post. If the fact that the Mach E is a Mustang is REALLY that big of a deal to you then I guess I can’t relate and won’t comment any further. I’m not trying to stir up drama but no need to bash Nick.

My last statement in regards to any Ford product... they have a lot more money than us... they have done a lot more research than us... they have a lot more experience than us. Can we just see how things turn out a few years from now before lighting it on fire? Oof
