Unbelievable....the Wiper Update is ONLY if you're having problems!!

Finally called local dealer (who sucks) and was told be service rep that it's a customer satisfaction program and ONLY if you're having problems can you get it done....I said, oh, so I wait until I'm in a downpour and they quit working....she didn't even chuckle. Just read off the paper, only if you're having problems. So I guess I'll be forced to lie next time I call.....Ford, YOU ARE STUPID.

I scheduled an oil change and my dealer asked me if I wanted to told do the wipers, seatbelt and back-up camera updates too so I scheduled them for the same time. No report of an issue required, I think your dealer has it wrong.

my dealer did it. He told me after my oil change. I didn't even request it, but I notice a difference on how they perform!

I've read about some wiped issues/annoyances but which specifically is this supposed to fix? Does it?

The wipers are designed to slow down if they draw too much current in order to prevent overheating. Some folks experience issues with heavy rain where the wiper slows down.

The fix basically reprograms the computer that monitors the current draw. (presumably to a higher limit)

This is not an issue I have experienced, but we don't get a lot of rain here. I've never even had my wipers on fast in the year and a half I have owned mine.

Yeah, we do a crap-ton of them via mobile service if it's on your OASIS.

One flash box will be provided to each dealer. For additional information about the flash box, refer to Parts Ordering Information section. I have never had an issue with my wipers, honestly hardly ever use them due to rainx. Was in for an oil change on Friday and they just did the update because the computer said it hadn’t been done yet. Your dealer is full of it.
