I have a base 2 dr on order so can't speak to that yet but I do have a 17' Tacoma TRD that I had 265/75/16's on for 35k then I did 285/75/16's 10k ago. The 285's ride better than the 265's but I did lose 3+ MPG as I did Toyo Muds instead of the 265 BFG's. The 285's look and perform many times better than the 265's and that is what I'm putting on our base IF we ever get it.

Are you planning (or have you) installed 265/75R16 on your Base Base Model with stock 16x7 wheels?

I am curious about the following if you can please share (just 265/75R16 on stock 16x7):
  • Which tire brand did you install?
  • Was their any interference/rubbing?
  • How is it running with new weight/size?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Now have just over 600 miles on my Base 2 door Bronco. I upgraded the tires last week to 265 75 r16.

Which tire brand did you install? Toyo Open Country A/T III (SL load).
Was their any interference/rubbing? None whatsoever.
How is it running with new weight/size? Rides / drives just as good as the original tires.

Chiming in - I also put 265/75/16 on my stock steelies. Zero issues so far. Falken Wild Peaks. Drives comfortably on the highway so far.

BFG KO2 285/75/16 on base with stock wheels. I’ve only ran them a couple days, but I did make a 50 minute trip (one way) on them, which is likely longest I’ll really ever make. Maybe they aren’t recommended for a 7” wheel, but they seem fine so far.
Do you have additional photos? Interested in KO2's in this size and wondering how wide they look from the front/rear. My preference is for 255/85r16 but the tread options are very limited.

Here's some additional photos with different angles... the new 265 75 r16 tires are right at the edge of the fender flares.

These look like 285/75R16. Are you sure these are 265?

Didn’t see this question asked, but is your level lift Just an inch in the front? There’s no lift in the rear at all, correct? Thanks

Inspired by @Oakpv1 I ordered a set of 265/75r16 Toyo Open Country AT3 as my “winter” set of tires. There was no way the 255/85r16 Falken MTs were going to provide the winter grip needed in the Great Lakes.

So far (three days, around town only) the difference is remarkable. Much quieter, smoother. Do they look as tall/gnarly as the Falkens? Nope. But it still looks good, and I’m not trying to get the rock crawler look. I’ve always like bronco builds that are focused more on practicality. Hence the base without a lift.

Looking forward to family trips “up north” this winter. And to the local sledding hills.
