Your dealer charges $175 for diagnostic?

I could have lived with mine if they weren't going to cover it but $175 ($216 after tax and fees) to be told no was insane. Luckily I called Ford and they got involved and the dealer reversed the decision.

Yeah seriously! That’s a wild price! It’s $90 for that where I live, but taking 2 mins to look at the steering wheel my service advisor wouldn’t even charge me lol

When I saw that happening to some int his thread I never bothered with the claim. I almost don’t even notice the mark on mine now

I put a little blame on me, I'm an aggressive honker lmao.

But none of my other vehicles, some 20+ years old have any of these issues.

Crazy. I haven't had my 2023 Wildtrak a week and noticed this exact crack on my airbag tonight. Wth? When i Googled it, i never thought i would find anything, but found this thread....thank God. Guess i need to call my dealer tomorrow.

My dealer ordered me a new one under warranty without so much as looking at it.

Insane that some dealers are denying and trying to charge for this well known problem.

Having the same issue as the rest of you. Dealer classified this as an abrasion. I’ve had a couple phone calls with Ford customer care, and they claim that if there isn’t an issue directly tied to my VIN, nothing can be done. She went on to say that if enough people presented evidence, they could look into issues with the part. I referenced this thread, and the others on the forum as examples, and was told that I could only discuss what was relevant to my VIN. I was certainly hoping that @Ford Motor Company would respond here for all our sakes.

Mine is identical to yours haha. I just try to keep it out of mind. Not going for deal with the hassle of the dealer replacing it only for it to happen AGAIN on the replacement. Not worth it to me
