I was notified my 22 Outer Banks was “In Production”. Not to seem brain dead, I understand this but should I assume this means it is rolling down the Ford Wayne Assembly Line? Please, your comments. Thanks

I can't remember to be honest. I am not sure if the status goes to in-production when a production date is first assigned or when it starts production. Regardless, either way a production date has been assigned, so contact your dealer and ask what the production date is and if a VIN has been assigned. A VIN typically won't been assigned till fairly close to the production date.

Mine started about 3-4 days before blend day and ended 3 days after blend day, so basically a week in production.

It means the date will change 5...12 times and then once it does start rolling down the line when it gets done it will be put on some type of hold for 2-6 months and then it will get delivered to dealer in another 1-4 months.

I received VIN beginning of September and the date has changed 5 times, original production date was sept 19 I think, called today and it’s now NOV 5.

Your Window Sticker will give you lots of info when it is generated. That will happen about a week before your blend date. See the Tracker link in the menu above for more info.

Oh, if you have a window sticker you’re getting built then. Every time I get close to one of the many production dates I’ve been given I know it’s getting pushed because i never get the window sticker.

“In production “ is just what it says, it’s in the process of getting built. Starts a couple of days before your blend day and usually goes a couple of days after your blend date. That doesn’t mean it takes that long to actually build it but it means to complete it. I see some get through real quick and I have seen others last for weeks if not months in this status. Usually means it’s waiting on some parts to complete the build. My wife’s which just was built stayed in “in production” for 8 days before it finally showed in WBDO that it was built. Got the email the next morning saying it had been built and was being shipped. It shows shipped now but just like so many others I can see it is still setting at rail yard in Woodhaven waiting for a rail car assignment.

Hopefully you don't get put on a chip hold. Mine sat built for 6.5 months awaiting chips.
