Wheel Locks recommendations?

Advanced Wheel Locks are also a relatively new company and a small family business founded by an Engineer. Good peeps.

Just make sure you order as many as you think you'll need. They can make replacements keys if you have the number. They can not make replacement wheel locks. I ordered six. My intent was one for each wheel and one to lose.

Then my OCD kicked in. I didn't like the idea of one lug nut being different on each wheel. I have stock wheels and tires, so less likely to be stolen by a determined thief. Also they require prior planning, jack and suitable wrench (90 ft-lb torque).

The spare is easy to remove, no jack needed and 40 ft-lb torque. So simple even a meth head can do it. Hence three matching locks. One for security and the other two so they all match.

I also ordered two keys, again, one to lose.

I just ordered the Advanced Wheel Locks. Thanks for the helpful information.

I bought 2 sets of the Advanced Wheel locks thinking (without asking - so my fault!!) I would get 2 keyed different sets and then I would put 1 of each set on each wheel - possibly providing more protection (at a price). When I received the locks the keys all matched so I have 1 key (actually 4 physical keys since each set came with 2) for all 10 locks.

But all good - 2 locks per wheel including the spare gives me a little peace of mind.

I just ordered the Advanced Wheel Locks. Thanks for the helpful information.

I put them on all five wheels. I also ordered two keys. One I keep at home with my tools, and the other I keep with my jack and tools in a Ziplock bag. You'll want to remember to provide the key to anybody who's working on your truck, especially tire work--and to retrieve it!--so it's not sitting on your mechanic's work bench when you leave. Do that once, you'll learn. They'll give you a few stickers and things with your Advanced registration number. One you can stick on the inside driver's door frame with your tire pressure. Put some clear packing tape over it to make sure it stays in place. Also, put the Advance registration number with their 800 customer service number with your registration, so if you're on a trip and can't locate your key you can call them for an emergency replacement.

I gather they manufacture a very large number of key designs (codes), and with such a large number the chances of anybody having yours are very remote.

when I bought my Heritage my Ford dealer (Autonation Torrance) tried to sell me the $90 Ford wheel locks for $200!!!

I confess to living in clutter. (But this year I seriously intend to address that--don't want my children to have to sift through everything.)

The problem with clutter is that you can't find tools. So I have extra hammers, saws, pilers, as I couldn't find them, so I went out and bought one (more) just to keep moving ahead on a project.
Tape measures and utility knives are what I probably replace most often. Next time you're in Home Depot or Lowe's, you'll notice that those two items are usually on a rack right near checkout.

@Desmolicious That $200 should buy you a full set of Advanced, plus one backup key and one nut.
