Which SYNC4 software version do I have?

I just checked my app and the last change is from Feb 16th! I'll check my bronco directly when I leave work later.

Also keep in mind that the 8in and 12in screen have different software and if I believe my service writer at the dealership, the 8in screen still doesn't have the reverse backup camera issue fixed yet (which occasionally happens on mine-I'll shift from R to D and a random screen pops up on the display for a second)

Ok....so I just finished with an online chat with Ford - lady was really nice. She says my current version on my Bronco is 4.0.22291, which jives with my initial screenshot. I turned off auto updates and wifi is off. Apparently with the newer versions, you can read the software version on your screen in a more straightforward manner as others have shared. BUT she also told me that it depends on what exact trim you have.....so some people may have 4.1 or 4.2 or whatever and it could be the latest software version for their particular vehicle. She said Ford is aware of the issues with 4.3.

So, I got an answer - somewhat helpful and clarifying, I guess. Also I found out that my modem has not yet been "authorized" to receive updates, so she told me to get that done soon. Gonna hold off on that for a while. Too much big brother watching....I'm good.

Not sure... It's kind of weird. I click on recent changes and this comes up.... Can't tell if this is telling me what the current outstanding update is supposed to be, or just the same info that was displayed originally for my already completed "recent update"

Is anyone running 4.3 ?
Or running anything higher than 4.2.4 ?

Not sure, it’s possible she meant 4.2.3, OR I said 4.3 and she just ran with that, assuming I meant the former.

Excellent glad you approve! I think a lot of us here are a bit more old school (I’m pushing 50) and don’t need too many gadgets/tech in our cars. We get enough of that at work (I’m in IT) and such.

But that doesn't answer the question. How does a person find out which 4.x version they are running without having to rely on a new update's details.

I know some people are referring to some online Ford website but I've never been able to find it either.

There needs to be a correlation between the about screen and the versions of 4.X everyone keeps talking about.

I have this one 4.2.4 and got an alert before turning it off this morning that it's schedule to update tomorrow at 3am.

Yeah the translation is weird
Our '23 BD has 4.2.2.1 in the Settings --> "Update Details"
But our SYNC Version is same as yours - SYNC Version 4.0.23096

So I'd guess this means your Bronco is also running 4.2.2.1

Settings --> Software Updates --> Update Details

But as far as I can tell, if 4.023096 is your version, then you are at 4.23

There may be a difference between 12" screen/8" screen. I'm not sure. Mine always seems to match up though. I have the 12" screen.

Ford app says I was last upgraded to 4.2.2.1, not sure what 4.23 refers to unless those are talking about two different software packages that just so happen to start with 4...

Be interesting to see what your Bronco Settings screen says under "Update Details"

I'd bet it's either 4.2.2.x or maybe it says "4.2.3 is Ready to be Downloaded"

My Ford pass app shows 4.2.3 already installed under recent activity on 9/23

Yeah that's a good thought. The "Ford Power-Up 4.2.2.1" could be a different software pkg from the "SYNC Version 4.0.23096" ?

The "power up" might be an installer package that updates other packages like SYNC, drivetrain or whatever. I don't know exactly what SYNC is (), but I guess that's related to just the media head etc. I also work in IT (software engineer), and what can look inscrutable to others oftentimes does make sense, if you only know... lol

And y'know, the poor 0... 4.0.23... 4.23...
