I've never lived with an enclosed trailer so let me bounce this off you guys. I have an idea to pick up a 8.5x24 or so 10-14k gvwr cargo trailer for two purposes.

I'd like to have a small sleeping area up front and put the Bronco inside and tow it with my truck for long distance wheeling trips, and also use it for hauling product for my business.

Anyone care to poke holes in my idea?

Think about a race trailer. Some have living quarters but if that’s too much $$, you can get one without the living space and if you still have your Bronco hammock, string it up inside.

It’s a solid idea…plenty of space for tools and extra parts busted while wheeling. And it gets you ride back home in a reliable road truck.

Yep, that works. I had a 20' that I used to travel my vette around (F-150 SuperCrew) n for storage I would recommend adding load torsion bars to the tongue.

Yep good idea. I have a smaller version for my ATV, this was prior to my Jeep days. I would recommend an alum. trailer and make sure your rear ramp handles you load. Less maintenance with the alum. trailers. I have 3 of them.

Would it get hot inside? I'm not sure what type of ventilation those things have.

Theory is good but not sure my Wildtrak would clear door height. I pulled a 24' and hauled my Shelby to track events and don't remember the the height being tall enough to clear. If you're towing a non-sas or non-lifted Bronco, then it should work.

That’s a very popular way to do it on the competition BBQ circuit. I’ve seen hundreds of “campers” built out just like that. Some are insanely nice, some just get you a nights sleep. Blank slate.

I'd be mindful of where the CoG is going to be if your sleeping area up front pushes the Bronco back in the trailer. Might be best to have a sleeping area that can be pulled out and set up once the Bronco is out depending on trailer size, axle position, yada-yada. Maybe that way you don't end up with a trailer that is either too tail heavy with the vehicle in it or too tongue heavy when loaded up with product... Or maybe it'll just work out perfect.;)

I do wonder about that. The published numbers are all over the place but it would seem a WT is about 75" tall. I should be right around 2" taller. The trailers I'm looking at have 7ft ceilings, so I'd have 7" of overhead clearance. But what if I have to do drive over fenders?

personally you would be better off with a split open/closed trailer, a ton of the off road community use this for this reason. I use to have a race car operation so I know trailers pretty well.

It would be easier to live with but the engine driving this idea is being able to make it a business expense, and an open trailer won't help me there.
