Wi-Fi hotspot includes wireless data trial that begins upon AT&T activation and expires at the end of 3 months or when 3GB of data is used, whichever comes first, but cannot extend beyond the trial subscription period for remote features.

Bronco will have OTA updates, doesn't need the hotspot for that. I don't understand paying for a hotspot in your car when you already have a phone for it with the provider of your choice.

Yeah, I haven't really dug into the reasons for connecting the acura to my home wifi. I'm guessing there is something that it can do for free that way, as opposed to buying a data plan for the car. Someone was just asking why does a car need wifi and I was just assuming he was not talking About a hot spot.

I generally agree with you, I dont plan to activate my plan either.

but for sake of knowing, the one feature a mobile plan for the car enables is remote lock/unlock/start beyond the range of the keyfob.

I dont really care too much about that either, but some might.

You can do that with your ford pass account

You're better off without it... unless you don't mind Ford selling your private data to third party corporations without your consent.

You don't need a mobile data connection/plan to use FordPass lock/unlock/remote start.
