It was an easy selection for me, the WT is the Bajaj machine I was looking for without having to build it myself. I'm a speed guy based on all of my other vehicles so I wanted the sport mode and the ability to run in the desert and sand.

If I want to do rock crawl I'll hop in my wife's 18 Jeep Rubicon.

Just guessing, but if you were ok with Big Bend, I would think $$ wise, building up your BB would be cheaper than a WT. For me, I was at OBX and by the time I added everything.. I was already at a WT.
Well in my estimates it was working out to about 50k and that was without MID. Might as well go Wildtrak.

I totally missed this, but I'm sure others knew but not only does WT come with a hard top..
But it is the modular hardtop? So that extra 10k over OBx gets you quite alot!

I'm hoping it doesnt cost much more to go with the modular steel bumper. It APPEARS we have to give up the fog lights on the standard bumper so that should factor into cost...
On the Wrangler steel bumpers are a $1545 option and you can get the foglights. I'm pretty sure Ford will be coming in pretty close on price.

I have badlands reserved today. Will switch to wildtrak only if marine vinyl and rubberized floors are available which sounds highly doubtful.
Still a sliver of hope... the Ford Tweet Q and A dodged the question., and the Ford ride-along Q and A stated vinyl floors will not be “swappable”.. after the fact, but didn’t go so far as to say the WildTrak could not be ordered with it. Really wished the question to them was rephrased ever so slightly. Anyways - we’ll know soon enough!

According to the Ford website, the WT hardtop will be painted "shadow black". So I'm going to assume that it'll most likely be a matte black finish since I've never seen a shiny shadow before. I'm hoping I'm wrong though and that it's just a silly description for a deep black.
Shadow black painted top is a shiny black painted top. There is a modular top that is not painted which would be a matte finish.

And the black paint option for the Bronco is called "Shadow Black" so thats the most telling fact. Thats obviously a glossy color

Shadow black is also on the Mustang. It’s a non metallic black as can be black. My wife has orange fury with shadow black painted roof on her 2019 GT. My 2017 GT350 was shadow black too.

I can see how that would lead to some confusion. You'd think Ford would want to keep some kind of consistency with names ?‍♂

Will the wild track have body color door handles? In the description it says color injected black but all pictures show body color.

The Ford website says
  • Door Handles - Molded-in-Color, Black
That appears to mean there's a choice....but either way, we'll know soon enough

I hope they are black. IMO having everything the same color with no accents looks cheap. The black handles breaks up the side some.

I'm also on this same path, reserved at (2door)BB thinking I'd basically up to a WT without the stuff I didn't want, but now I'm rethinking all that. Just picked up a side gig in case I end up going WT... of course then I'm gonna start thinking I need the Lux for speakers and adaptive cruise... shit.

Im on the other side. If they are flat molded black then they won't match the body, top or mirrors.
