They screwed up, natch. Go by the order guide. Capable bumper isn't an option on any trim, but it's standard on BL and BD.
Your right you can probably find a nice alternative some day. But the point is why should anyone have to? You just spent 30 to 60K for the vehicle and now the bumper needs to be replaced because it is inferior. Ford should give you more options within models. I feel their front modular bumper is very nice.Only stuck until you replace it.
But if you go with the bash plates, you can't get the roof rack.I checked the B&P today. The $575 difference is only for Black Diamond and Badlands builds. These builds come with the "capable" steel bumper and bash plates.
The Wildtrak does not come standard with the steel bash plates or a steel front bumper (modular or capable). When you upgrade to the modular bumper, you get front bash plates.
It looks like the $250 difference is the front bash plates. I went for the full bash plates on my Wildtrak build. Even though I don't do a crazy amount of off-roading, it will protect the undercarriage from the occasional 2x4 dropped in the highway

I just received my build date 9/26/22. I ordered the wildtrac with high package, the build picture shows capable bumper, I was told by dealer high package and above gets capable bumper. So I did a build on fords website, and when you switch from mid to high, or luxury the bumper changes .let’s see what happens when it comes in. Looking at fab fours vengeance and dv8 modular
I'll be selling my capable bumper from my Badlands if/whenever I get the Bronco.

I like the Warn Elite with the winch so I can set it up like my JK but I need the bumper to come with optional mounts to accommodate for 1.5" body lift. (raise the body - raise the bumper)I'll be running 37's but I will stick with factory Badsquatch suspension but upgrade tie rod ends. I see many failures now that people have modified suspension to get the 37's to fit. Factory geometry will be more successful. Body lift is a fraction of the cost anyways. Also raising the bumper will help restore approach angle loss with the winch bumper.
