Will Ford ever produce the elusive black modular top?

Will Ford ever produce (for sale) a bronco with a black modular top? Just about every add on Ford showed off in 2020 is available now, slide out floor, Braptor, Heritage, Everglades, low range axles, etc. but no black modular tops. My guess is if they painted the modular top black it would show 100s of defects in the top. The white paint on the heritage helps to hide defects, black magnifies defects. Lord knows the hard tops have been a huge struggle.

My white mod top is, to my eye at least, pretty defect free and smooth/straight. The black/painted mod top will ultimately happen once they can actually boost the production numbers which looking at the past HE history wasn't great. However ... '24 four door HEs seem to be rolling along pretty good but the numbers are still too low to offer them to the mainstream option list like was planned at the beginning.

My guess is that it will be offered for the supposed Bronco “refresh” in ‘25 or ‘26.

Yeah, I say that facetiously. I'd still like to see Ford offer the Bronco how it was originally promoted. I'm out of the buying game until something really warrants my interest.

They can't even produce a MIC top as an after purchase accessory through their Parts department. I think it'll be a bit longer of a wait for the black modular top, unfortunately.

I’m with @Lowcountry Bronco, my top appears flawless outside and with the gloss finish, it would show any defects pretty clearly, inside, it’s a hot mess.

Webasto really sucks. Their moonroofs were junk 25 years ago and their roofs are junk now.

I'll keep driving my Wrangler until Ford can offer the body color modular top they showed all the way back on launch night. To be this far into the run and it only being available on the HE and only in white is disappointing to say the least. I will not own a Bronco with the MIC top ever.

I'm pretty certain I know the answer to this - Our MICs that have severe "honey combing-effect" are covered under the warranty, correct? I know a bunch of you guys have had it checked out by the dealerships and replaced.

I think we are at a point now that any new top offerings will be on the 7th gen whenever that comes out.

So far no issues with my MIC top. Sorry to report they aren't all bad.
