idk. I kinda liked Ford Performance.
First, calling something ".... Racing" is kinda generic?
I've always thought it was cooler when someone named a race team something more than their last name . racing.
Maybe I'll get a discounted Ford Performance Sticker for the top of my windshield now lol.

Yeah I mean...Toyota has their TRDs (always makes me think of fecal matter) and it just seems...lame.

Ford Performance made it sound like it was for everyone. Ford Racing makes it seem like it's not, at least to me.

Wasn’t it originally Ford Racing way back when?

Yes. I have a keychain (or had, might have lost it now, haven't seen it in a while) that said Ford Racing. Had it with my '03 SD.

Rebranding is always risky.
"Ford Performance" implied that anybody/everybody could identify and, sort of, participate, to the degree he wanted to, had opportunity to, could afford, whatever.
"Ford Racing" suggests that it involves only people who are involved in competition. The rest of you (us)? It's like the teenager with a Ferrari ballcap.

I'll up that and say go back to "SVO" but I'll settle for "SVT". "Ford Racing" is lame.
Probably along the same lines, its not so much the name but the structure. SVT was able to do some cool stuff. No way FP or FR could cancel a model year because it was dog shit, like Coletti did with the 2002 SVT Cobra. The result being a badass 2003 mustang that the ford penny pinchers despised.

Had a pair of Ford Racing valve covers on my 302 ci 69 Mustang convertible back in the 90s. Don't have either anymore.
