I think I know the answer, but the 10k markup makes me hesitant.
I ordered a soft top wildtrack, Sasquatch, luxury package 2 weeks ago. Just got a call that my exact package (with hardtop and towing) the builder backed out, build starts 12/20 with VIN # and 2022. BUT 10k markup. Go for it or wait it out?

I originally wanted the hardtop but was told to order the soft if I wanted it anytime later next year.

Thoughts?

Can I ask what that matters?

Is the new order from the same dealer guaranteed to have no ADM? If so, wait. Not sure why the dealer wouldn't work with you though...

Some think that a vehicle built over the holidays will be built by employees that rather not be there, that have the holidays on their brain and therefore will be building cars on autopilot. Hogwash.

Less focused, more looking towards time off, time of model year switch on line, e.t.c e.t.c

I'm hoping for a March build, but also hoping to avoid June and July. Sept and October are good too

That being said, I sure as shit would wait and not pay that criminal price from that dealer. Like Conor asks above, what is to say the dealer won;t screw you on your order as well unfortunately.

Mine started the Friday before Labor Day and finished the Tuesday after the holiday. Pretty much worst case scenario. Itā€™s been flawless for 3,000 miles pretty much.

Actually, the holiday season affects all industries, not just auto. Christmas especially because of the back to back holidays with NYE. Lots people on vacations, it's a slow down, not business as usual

Definitely affects my work. And it affected all the people building car parts in the factories in Warren where i grew up

Iā€™d make them throw in a $1,000 of accessories and leap. You wonā€™t get yours built until Fords thinking of a refresh

Same dealer. But has 10k markup. Iā€™m waiting for a soft top, actually contemplated two orders as the hardtop was our first choice but I wanted it before 2023.

I have some swamp land in Louisiana for sale if you want it. It's not above sea level but it's available now with no haggle.

Try to negotiate with them on the $10k markup. Keep in mind they will eventually get your reservation and will be able to mark it up $10k for some other sucker. Iā€™d try to get it down to $3-5kā€¦Iā€™d pay that to have mine sooner.

I agree with the first part, but i personally won't pay more for sooner. But it's your money if you got it

I just don't think they are worth any adm, now or ever

This is the best course of action. If the OP wants a HT and settled for the ST on their order, they would likely pay at least $4k for a HT from the parts counter.
