What makes you think Granger “would never be able to deliver all of the orders” ?????
People were internet hyped into ordering from a dealer that will take 3 years per your calculation to deliver. Why are you defending them? I’ll be enjoying my Bronco for years before many of their customers get one.

That’s because Ford changed the rules AFTER we all ordered.

Some people still have their head in the sand and will continue to defend this dealer. I felt it was clear when Ford went after them right from the beginning when they started to accumulate more reservations than normal. I feel sorry for those that will be waiting possibly 2 more years, but they gambled and lost.

I reserved at Ford.com, a very long time ago. I could care less what an allocation is. If Ford.com can't get me my vehicle, then I'll just get something else.

What he said.

According to Tim Bartz at Long McArthur Ford, Ford is watching very closely. They were audited and had to provide documentation on a couple of the sales not completed.
in a 'city' of 47K people and a dealer with 122 cars in total on their website. That is a small dealer, so your data point doesn't refute my supposition that the big dealers will not get audited and the small ones will get hammered. It is a dog and pony show.

People defend Granger because by Ford's original allocation formula, Granger would have had absolutely no problem delivering all the Broncos they had on order by the end of 2022.

Have you been to Granger Motors or Granger Ford? Have you talked to any of the Granger team? Have you done business with them?

Most of us didn't order from Granger for some killer deal. Most of us ordered through Granger because the Ford dealers in our towns are crooks and we were going to have to buy out of town anyway.

I couldnt get any info from my local dealers either. In fact, the original one I ordered from isnt even in business anymore and they got bought out. Most of us saw what was coming when Ford decided not to do xplan. That is why we went with Granger.
Agreed. the original allocation formula gave more future allocations to dealers with the most orders. It wasnt until the big dealers complained that Ford changed it.

chuckling... seriously, how is it gambling when the house (Ford) changes the rules in the middle of the hand? It was a rigged game, not gambling. Had Ford kept the terms that Ford came up (nobody twisted their arm), it would not be a 'gamble' at all. The entirety of your position is that people should have predicted that Ford would change all the rules and ignore the ones in place when reservations were taken. On the face of it, it is laughable that you cling to that as the basis of your opinion. Next time you sit at a blackjack table and the dealer says the new rule is that he can go up to 23 without busting after the hand is dealt, be sure to blame yourself for not assuming that would happen and not the casino.

My only point was that Ford did visit them for an audit. Some are doubting Ford is doing so and they proved that they really are.

Tesla has changed the game. The Dealer model is forever broken. Ford has already said it is going towards a make to order model. EV’s will be pretty much ubiquitous. Buyers will shun Dealers if they feel they are going to get jerked around. A Model Y or Mustang EV are relatively the same except you buy the Model Y online. Get a call from Tesla and you drive it home in 30 minutes. Ford needs to be in survival mode or risk going extinct, Bronco or not.
Tell that to this guy in Finland

There may be some truth there, but as time went on, it became clearer that the road was getting bumpy, yet many were more intent than ever to get in line. I don't see how they thought they were all set with allocations when they only had 1 of the 3 key criteria for getting allocations and that was selling Jeeps. The other 2 had them at a disadvantage from day 1.

No, people are doubting the big dealers will be audited, that Ford will apply the same rules across the board.

As as aside, perhaps you do not understand that Granger and other smaller dealers did not promise anything about delivery times at any time. People made their choices based completely on what Ford had on their webpage. Blaming a dealer because Ford upended the table is just goofy.

edit; it is clear you did not understand the allocation formula included reservations for 2021 and that was eliminated for 2022 after everyone re-ordered for 2022. The second part of the reservation promise was that they would build them before widespread dealer stock.
