INCOMING: Driveshaft Recall (Customer Satisfaction Program 22B27) - replacement needed to avoid cracked boot

My build date is sept 29th and I DEFINITELY have the issue.
- Rumbling / noise at just over 50
- Crawled under confirmed boot is cracked, wet and the shaft moves up and down
- video attached (maybe)?
Called dealer to schedule. Was hoping they could pre order the shaft but was told they have to inspect it first and the soonest appointment is Oct 31st. I said it is part of a service bulletin. They said they never heard of the issue so I gave them the bulletin number. He said, oh yeah there it is, but it does not apply to my VIN.
Bottom line, this is affecting build dayes PAST Sept 17th. Maybe not far past but mine is affected and probably used a shaft sitting on a shelf during the build.

Dealer said it isn’t a recall, just an inspection. If it’s torn, they’ll replace, otherwise send you on your way. Mine was not eligible for replacement because it wasn’t torn.UPDATE: This affects all Broncos with build dates from 9/23/2020 through 9/17/2021.

as flip said, the person you talked to at your local dealer was mistaken. If you want it performed just call them back and speak to another advisor or ask them to read the dealer letter for 22B27.Dealer said it isn’t a recall, just an inspection. how long did it take to get the replacement part in?
I am still waiting and mine is shit to drive at 70+ mph right now because of it

When I pressed them they told me I could get it done but if it happened again they wouldn’t fix it again. I’ll probably wait until next summer and make them do it regardless, since it expires next October.
Damn - my dealer Gorno Ford was annoying to make order the part. They order approx 1 week ago and are unable to give me an ETA on the arrival of the part.
I REALLY hope this doesn’t mean many more weeks prior to the part coming in. My vibrations are getting worse by the day..
My dealer said the parts are back ordered until at least mid November.
Sigh. I was in my dealer the day this post was created - yet somehow I’m stuck in a back order log.
Lucky guy in this thread got his in a week. Must be nice

Your sig shows built email of 7/20/21. It's possible they include more than what's in the original release but usually not that far out of the window.

Just got my letter for this today. No issues with mine that I noticed so far. I will have to get under and check it myself to see if the boot is good. I'm still taking it in for this though. I'll be calling on Monday in hopes I don't get any issues from my nearest dealer about getting it fixed.
Got my letter today too. Probably won't get into a big hurry to have it done.
