It's apparently designed by an ex-Porsche designer lolThey can’t help themselves, and lack any of their own creativity.
You're telling me this isn't a unique vehicle design that definitely isn't trying to copy anything else out there?! /sIt's sad with China's multi thousand year history they can't just have the freedom to let their people design and engineer their own thing. They would be great at it and we'd all be better for it on this planet if they (their leadership) could get out of their own way.
Agree its iterative, and historically Chinese car manufacturers have had to copy becasue the designers dont have international training in general, as do designers from Europe and US. - but "they cant help themselves" sounds resentful and racist. They can’t help themselves, and lack any of their own creativity.
its not "the leadership" - its car manufacturing history is not "thousand year" either - Its that CHina is just learning how to design cars that appeal to an international audience. SOmetimes they hire European and US designers to lead. But the kids coming up through design programs in China dont typically go over to Art Center, not becasue they are "blocked by the government" - its becasue its hard to do that. Hard to get accepted by Art Center, hard to pay for it, hard to get parents and grandpartent that will pay for you to study overseas to be a doctor or lawyer - to convince them to pay $60k per year for you to "be a designer" - Wha?? Its just hard on so many levels. It's sad with China's multi thousand year history they can't just have the freedom to let their people design and engineer their own thing. They would be great at it and we'd all be better for it on this planet if they (their leadership) could get out of their own way.

https://www.carscoops.com/2023/02/n...nese-suv-penned-by-a-former-porsche-designer/Is it body on frame or just another crossover?
Does it have a proper transfer case? Lockers? Solid rear axle?
So many questions.
