Nice choice! A local shop in NJ (Ok4wd) has built out a few Grenadiers. That is on my list of "one day" vehicles.

All I know about it it has a BMW B58 engine which is a great platform. Plenty of parts availability for it. Its the same engine that comes in the Supra/Z4, and the newer cars badged M with a 40 after the model... Ex m340, m440, etc.

Grenadier is frankensteined-together with various parts from different manufacturers it seems. I don't think parts will be an issue. Assembled by MAGMA - a respected company who have built some nice vehicles for others.

The issue is - it is a low volume, hard core overlander with a sparse dealer network. I didn't think the INEOS was "more comfortable" than a Bronco though.

Scarcity of parts, as in I'm wheeling out in (let's say) northern Nevada and get a breakdown that needs fixing, and the nearest parts are days away. Emergency repairs would almost certainly not be at a dealer, and it's not clear that the shop would know to sub in some part from a different brand that would fit.

Ford is a common brand and there are a fair number of Broncos running around. With a common brand and a not-rare vehicle I feel a lot better about repairs while traveling out here in the west.

The front occupant area is roomier than my 2 door bronco but I can't speak to how the back seats compare to a 4 door. The center console looks big in pictures but not when you are sitting in the car. The area behind the rear seats is just huge.

Build quality more like a g-wagon or an older Porsche 911. It has that click when you shut the doors that those vehicles have. Go take one for a drive. It is very different than a bronco.

14 mpg

The 2.7 has 335 hp and 400 lb-ft torque
18 mpg

Or for about the same money

The Bronco Raptor 405 hp and 430 lb-ft torque
Raptor 5200 lb WB 116 in 4500 lb tow
Grenadier 4000 lbs WB 115 in 7700 lb tow

I don't know how the Grenadier is rated for more towing than either Bronco.

I know the basic total cargo and vehicle weight can't exceed the GCWR but what gives??

The Ford Ranger with the 2.3 is rated for 7500 lbs and the F150 with the 2.7 in rated for 10,000, it's got nothing to do with the engine or transmission, the suspension is the biggest problem.

They seriously detuned that engine. In the BMWs its 380hp give or take. Few simple bolt on mods and theyll make close to 600.

Unfortunately you'll get some folks trolling you on here because you sold your Bronco ( ) but that's ok - You had a great experience with it, and it's time to move on for various reasons. I too needed a higher towing capacity for my needs.

I expected the trolls and won't engage them. While I don't have the 6G bronco any more I still have a 1967 bronco that will never get sold so I'll always be part of the community and always love the Bronco.
