2.7l V6, I understand the extra steps required. I also have the parking sensors, camera and adaptive cruise control so I have to move things no matter what. Those that used the Rough Country hidden tray and winch overall impression. Note: I do not expect to rock climb at Moab, I am learning off roading and consider myself a novice. What I do want is freedom to travel off the beaten path and having good tools lets me push my personal limits and feel comfortable off road. Less on the reduced entry angle more on functional will this setup work for average plus users.

Have a winch on our Jeep and have done all the trails around Ouray Colorado and a little at Moab. Same thing for our Bronco but no winch on it. The only time I've used the winch is around the house to pull stuff. Don't think I'm going to go to all the trouble to install one on our Braptor. You would have thought that a vehicle designed to go offroad would make accommodating a winch much easier.

My only experience with RC was a lift on a Jeep and it fell apart in a couple of years. Doesn't mean what you are looking at isn't great quality.

I have it with the 2.3L and I have no issues with it. Like @Taltyman though, I hope to never need it just like the tourniquet in my first aid kit.

The only grief it ever gave me was having to lower everything out of the way to install a new intercooler and again to install new charge pipes... only because I installed the RC hidden winch first. The intercooler gave measurable results in the battle against temperature, so I'd recommend doing that first, or at the same time, if you ever plan on doing it.

Other opinions in the Search feature.

I'm imagining you driving your Bronco into your living room to winch your couch from one side of the room to the other, hahaha!

I have and use it all the time. Never had any issues. I also have the parking sensors, Adaptive Cruise Control, etc. etc. and didnt have to adjust anything to mount the hidden winch. I rock crawl and the hidden winch plate also serves as a good skid plate. Have been running with this thing for the past two years, so far so good.

I have the RC on a 2.3, really like it. My impression on installation was, and still is, it is very well designed and built. Install on 2.3 was straight forward, 2.7 might have scared me. You'll probably want to give some thought to what winch you use ie. whether you'll have to relocate control box and if you'll be able to disengage clutch. I used a Rugged Ridge 9K and did not have to relo the box and I built aa tool to disengage the clutch. All that said, I've never used it yet but feel good knowing it's there..

Thankful i've found this thread - i've got the RC Hidden winch on my 2.7 Wildtrack.

Wondering if anyone has skid plates? I'm looking to get at minimum a fuel tank skid (my wildtrack doesn't have one) and potentially full skid plate setup. I'm wondering if anyone has found that one skid or another works well with the RC hidden winch.

Thanks

Search, there are lots of skidplate threads. The basic Ford set is pretty good, you' wouldn't need the bash plate portion because you have the RC, but could probably sell it on this forum. I also have an ASFIR transmission skid because the Ford kit doesn't come with the transmission skid. Again, search 'skid plates' on the Forum you'll get lots of opinions.
