The latest painted hardtop with the white interior is totally different and superior.
look at the 2025 hardtop (painted white outside) and looks like MIC inside (16:38 of the video).

Yeah, that is the "version 2 painted HT" that I itemized earlier in this thread. Early MY'25 Broncos with the painted top are showing up with both the "unfinished" black interior and the newer white interior. Seems the best explanation is the early builds of MY'25 are exhausting the backlog inventory of painted HTs from MY'24.

Wouldn't the one in the video be one of the "early" ones though, since it was one of the first ones they got on the lot?Yeah, that is the "version 2 painted HT" that I itemized earlier in this thread. All painted 2 door tops will likely be the same painted Mod top that the heritage 2 doors have always had.Wouldn't the one in the video be one of the "early" ones though, since it was one of the first ones they got on the lot?
I'm still waiting to see what the 2 door painted tops look like inside, but I haven't seen any photos or videos pop up yet. Mine has a build date of 3-31 and I'm curious what I'll get!
That attached video does show an an interior like the old MIC honeycomb roof material. It could be because itās a 4 door? Every painted hardtop that Iāve seen offered by Ford that has a white interior does not look like MIC inside. Itās completely different and upgraded. Itās better than my own ā24 Heritage that has a painted white hardtop (standard for the Heritage) but mine is not as nicely finished on the inside. But my interior roof is not a honeycomb MIC roof, and I know that because Ford didnāt put sound deadening material around my latches same as in the video-BUT my interiorās bare latch spaces show me itās not honeycomb MIC. Itās fiberglass or some other metal type material. Definitely not MIC honeycomb.

Would you agree that a late ā24 Heritage 2 door with the white painted top is NOT a MIC honeycomb materiel but rather some type of fiberglass material. You are right that the 2 doors donāt seem to have the white interior roof. All painted 2 door tops will likely be the same painted Mod top that the heritage 2 doors have always had.
It will still have the gunners hatch, but not the removable windows.
I donāt believe there is any new 2 door top with the white interior similar to what the 4 door has.
It doesnāt matter when the top was made. The construction of the 2 door painted top has never changed.Would you agree that a late ā24 Heritage 2 door with the white painted top is NOT a MIC honeycomb materiel but rather some type of fiberglass material. If I was ordering a 25 I would definitely go paintedā¦my 22 is in getting a new top right now. Sadly I donāt have high hopes for the replacement lasting much longer than this one didā¦but who knows.

All the edges in the back were pretty thin. I imagine they all would have done the same eventually.Wow man, I haven't seen the edge separation issue in a long time. An early ('22) survivor that finally let go.![]()
), but the idea of needing a new top, and not being able to easily get one concerns me.Don`t reinforce tie rod--you then break the rack.So I ask this question as a perspective buyer, I currently have a 24 Rubicon X. My 3rd wrangler so I know most of the issues with Jeeps (it's usually one of the batteries). What are the issues and causes of these top failures? I've been looking at broncos and scrutinizing the hard tops but I have not found any issues with the ones I've seen. Is this a case of some / a few issues, or most are failing, or it takes several years to develop, happens in cold or hot climates etc.
I can live with having to reinforce tie rods (minor issues - unless it's breaks on a trail), but the idea of needing a new top, and not being able to easily get one concerns me.
Thanks
I believe there is another thread on somewhere on here that shows it's unfortunately made the same as the MIC, honeycomb cardboard. I've looked really closely at my MOD top and I swear I see a bit of honeycomb. It will probably last longer though since it's painted.Would you agree that a late ā24 Heritage 2 door with the white painted top is NOT a MIC honeycomb materiel but rather some type of fiberglass material. My god that is so pathetic. If I was ordering a 25 I would definitely go paintedā¦my 22 is in getting a new top right now. Sadly I donāt have high hopes for the replacement lasting much longer than this one didā¦but who knows.
