BAUS67, Crispy,
Do a search on the Jeep JK 3.8 burning oil - it’s a big problem with a lot of epinions. If anybody remembers the old days of checking the oil every time you fill your gas: that is what you do with a 3.8.

FCA cheated me out of my lifetime drivetrain warranty a long time ago anyway, so I have settled on running a high temp synthetic 5-W30 MS-6395 oil because the recommended 5-W20 MS-6395 burned at the rate of a quart per 1000 miles or worse and knocks and pings under load. The detonation issues go away with the 30 weight, and it’s more like a quart every 3000 miles.

My cousins had the timing chain go in his JK (thinks a previous owner ran the oil sump dry) and had to replace the engine and the burnt oil clogged cats. The reman engine builder recommended 5-W30. Apparently that is what FCA used to recommend in addition to running the engines at 185 instead of 195 degrees. (Squeezing mpg out of old designs.)

Anyway, here’s hoping the 2.7 TT Bronco has more towing capacity, awesome off road capability, and doesn’t send it’s whole user base into the murky waters of correcting for excessive oil burning.

Did that once (after having it installed for 7 years)...........
Car drove straight into my empty pool (which I was planning on tearing out anyway).
Where you live looks really familiar-I have a condo in 60 Acres and live in Howell now..

It did test my years of offroad extraction skills, but had it out by myself in about 4 hours. .

Even drove it to work in the afternoon. One of the rear control arms was tweaked a bit, so it did need
an alignment, but otherwise very little damage overall. Did trash the class one hitch I luckily had for a tow point.

Only a Fusion, but I have had ZERO oil usage since new, not one drop
and I checked like crazy in the beginning due to a run of bad cyl heads showing
themselves as oil usage very early on in 2.7's. And I suspect
I push it way harder than most will driving a 4x4.

Only oil issue I had recently was dealer putting 3-3/4 quarts too much oil in
when they did my last pan. It takes 6, so I could have seen 12 maybe, if 2
different guys were putting oil in, LOL!!!

But but but… NO ONE can like FSBs!!! People are only allowed to like EBs! That's why they're worth so much more! Not because they're from an era of exaggerated nostalgia, but because no one likes FSBs!

Mine likely will.
Has it been confirmed in any way that some of these EB/early FSB paint scheme's might be avail?
