On my way to work this morning, my windshield had a hard impact as I was driving 80 mph. I did not see what hit it but there was a loud pop that startled me. I immediately looked to see the damage but could not find any. Later, I discovered scrape marks on the windshield. It must have been a hard plastic, wood or something like that. The marks indicated it was about 1.5'" wide and probably a little higher. I was able to wipe the marks off by scrubbing with a paper towel.
I am not sure where it came from. There was no vehicle in front of me for quite a ways. The mark skidded at a slight angle which seems to indicate it came from a lane to the right of me.
I am very happy my windshield survived this one.
