Bronco windshield held up well with a hard impact.

On my way to work this morning, my windshield had a hard impact as I was driving 80 mph. I did not see what hit it but there was a loud pop that startled me. I immediately looked to see the damage but could not find any. Later, I discovered scrape marks on the windshield. It must have been a hard plastic, wood or something like that. The marks indicated it was about 1.5'" wide and probably a little higher. I was able to wipe the marks off by scrubbing with a paper towel.

I am not sure where it came from. There was no vehicle in front of me for quite a ways. The mark skidded at a slight angle which seems to indicate it came from a lane to the right of me.

I am very happy my windshield survived this one.

Mine held up to nailing an owl at 50mph, but a rock out of a truck a couple weeks before that did it in.

They aren't all SoundScreens? My 2013 Ford Police Interceptor Utility had a soundscreen.

I read somewhere that the 2025 models have upgraded glass and other sound deadening features. My 2021 didn’t have SoundScreen printed in the lower driver side of the glass. My 2025 does. Not sure if some late 2024 (or earlier) received it as well.

It is the factory windshield that came with a September 2024 build. Is there a way to tell what kind of windshield it is?

SoundScreen printed in the lower driver side of the glass. Annoying spot because that’s where NY inspection sticker goes and can’t interfere with the QR code. Wish it was top edge.

I saw the previous post that explained where to look for the SoundScreen print. I looked for it and nada. Mine must be the standard OEM windshield before 2025.

Well, a rock kicked up by an oncoming car’s tire cracked the Soundscreen windshield on my ‘25 less than 60 days into ownership. Right near the edge over the seal.

Got the OEM Bronco glass replacement with insurance. I doubt it will be the last.

I will be on my 2nd Advanced transfer case soon too. Lucky me!

Still love the Bronco.
