2025 OBX Sasquatch, took it in a few weeks ago for routine service and all the recalls(Brake Booster, child lots, and screen blacking out. I never had issues with any of them.) Last week I was down in the actual Outer Banks, went out on the beach and my Sand, Mud/Ruts, Rock Crawl have disappeared, street modes, Normal, Slippery, Eco, and Sport are all still there. Anyone else had this issue after a recall software update? Brought it back to the shop and they couldn't restore them. Apparently it is a known issue for Ford. Would have had them skip the recalls if I had been aware.

Shop emailed me this:
"We received a response from Ford hotline and they noted that engineering is currently aware of this concern. There is no solution available at this time, but an SSM is being worked on and will be published soon. The are asking us to monitor Oasis which is the Ford information site for Ford dealer's letting us know of current updates and other information. At this time there is no further action that we can take but we will continue to monitor Oasis as requested and once a remedy becomes available we will get your vehicle back in to perform the remedy from Ford. I'm truly sorry about the inconvenience and as I said before, I have not encountered this concern before and we have performed over 300 of these recalls."

So, I suggest you hold off on any recalls that require software updates of you need the off road GOAT modes.

Luckily I have the experience to drive on the beach and get back over the dunes, but it takes a bit of concentration. In the past, Sand Mode took zero mental effort to get up and over the soft dunes. Technology works, and I want mine back!!!!

Don't you worry, quality will go into the next Jira sprint.

I genuinely like that updates like this can go out to vehicles after the fact. But on the other hand, it's just turned into a mechanism for *every* manufacturer to just phone it in and release product to the market that straight up isn't done.

Dang that bites. For a company that does OTA fixes on the same pace as Joey Chestnut grabbing for another dog….you’d think they would have a handle on this.

The whole played out “ There is no solution available at this time, but an SSM is being worked on” is exactly why I turned off updates while sitting in the truck taking delivery at the dealer. Jan ‘24 bronco with recalls piling up in my app and a constant “turn on updates” reminder screen I have to tap past and she runs as good as the day I drove her home. If it ain’t broke, ford ain’t getting a chance to make sure it is.

This was from a dealer service center update, not an OTA update. I take care of the safety recalls because I drive my family around.
I really feel this is something that deserves compensation beyond just a fix. I am without something I paid for.

That sucks. I got the OTA update for the screen blacking out a couple days ago. Haven't tried any goat modes since. Guess I need to go see if they still work.

Yup. All is well.

Oh good luck with that.

Ford Software is among the worst I've ever seen, you'll be standing in line behind the folks who's Sync never worked right, who's backup cameras black out, who's brake boosters fail to engage properly, who's transmissions don't shift correctly, etc etc etc

Do try the old battery disconnect for 15 minutes thing. Low odds, but it's fixed a variety of odd issues reported here.

It isn't a battery issue.

Can you use Forscan and re-add the missing modes? It might be the path of least resistance.

Were there any mods done on the vehicle or tune implemented before the application of recalls ? I have seen this strange behaviour brick computers thanks to Windows updates, so Ford cannot be any different. Lucky the Bronc wasn't bricked. OTA updates are scary. Somebody needs to do better testing before rollout to the field.

I guess I'm glad I'm old school...LOL. I never use GOAT modes, I prefer to set everything myself.

Haven't done any mods and won't be risking the warranty with Forscan until it has expired. Not giving them any excuse to not fix it right. But once it is up, plan for a few little forscan things. Had it less than a year, drove it off the lot with 6 miles on the odometer. This stuff should not happen.
