Reservation number sequence - is it sequential or indicates spot in queue?

Ford is storing our info and the reservation number in a database somewhere.
More than likely there is also an incremental counter field in the table and an inserted date/time field.

So whatever meaning they are assigning to the reservation code itself does not have to relate to the counter or time stamp at all. The reservation codes could be entirely random and a simple lookup in the table would give them the actual counter/time stamp value for our reservation.

One reason for doing this would be to remove the possiblilty of us (or the press from) decrypting the reservation codes to determine actual order volume or positions.

I had my confirmation email before the crash at 8:04p est and it starts with 1012xxxx. I thought at first 1012 was First Editions but who knows.

I do think most people who ordered from Crispy have 1012 #s.

I got in on the 4dr FE close to 10pm est and ended up with 16233...I'd guess there's just some sort of algorithm that Ford can use internally to track things in the queue...and it's not sequential

Of course with how this went, trusting Ford with an algorithm makes me nervous...hahaha

No, the last 4 digits are completely random and do not indicate how high or low your reservation is. The others are sequential, so a 101xxxxx is lower than a 102xxxxx

I said 101x and 102x intentionally, the 4th number is not sequential and I dont know how its assigned. Or...my friend at work who told me about it mistakenly said the last 4 digits were random instead of 5. To be quite honest she smokes a lot of pot and is not very reliable, but shes the only source I have for such information.
