Ford confirms folded rear seats will have slight incline and 4" step up from cargo floor

BINGO !!!!!! If you look at the seat it is folded FLAT, but not level with the cargo area.

When my son was like 5 I taught him you have 4 fingers and a thumb. Got the from the wifey. weeks later when the teacher ask how many fingers you have, my son explained it. Teacher said tell your dad he is correct but for our lesson here you have 5.

That's really no big deal. How often does one really need the cargo to be dead-flat. Honestly the 4" rise is probably pretty good for sleeping. Especially if you're trying to use a jacket or something else as crappy for a pillow.

I’m pretty sure the rise would be near center of the length, unless you qualify as a midget I don’t think the seats will be useful as a pillow ?

I saw it and started a thread calculating why that number is wrong. Still no resolution

It’s identical to the 2 door. 36” sucks. The sectional shots clearly show more overall total FR legroom on the 4 door. Either

A

the 4 dr legroom on the website is understated

B

the 2 dr is overstated

C

the website is showing the average of the 2 dr and 4 door and its applied to both.

...while I’d love to believe legroom beats the wrangler benchmark there is no telling since the b pillar ceiling bar is pushed back behind the rear seats potentially compressing the seating length for structural purposes. Ford may be covering up and/or figuring out. Such as the recent news that the rear seats doesnt fold flat.

Maybe I interpreted it wrong. I was thinking the rise went firm zero to 4. So you're right...actually terrible for sleeping. Ha

He was saying that that figure was wrong. The 2-door and 4-door legroom measurements are listed as the same, but the 4-door should definitely have more legroom.

4 inch step and SLIGHT incline. So it will likely be similar to this incline angle of the 4 door seat folded down which shows a incline slightly lower than that of the seat itself.

However if you look at the 4 door pullout tray accessory. You can see it looks about 4-5 inches tall.

So there is a chance you can have a quite flush bed in your 2 door but this is just speculation as we dont know if the 2 door will have a tray

And just for fun. Here is the bronco sport rear compartment that seems to also have a slight step and incline.

Does this mean we can get the 4 door bronco without the pullout tray since it's an "accessory"

This is what I have for my Tacoma with the rear seats taken out. I can imagine a nice cover with one long or two smaller storage lids for guns or whatever to cover that 4 inch area.

Why would you think the 2 door and 4 door can’t have the same legroom in the back seats? The difference is in the cargo area, not the seating area.

The supercrew ranger only has 34.5” of legroom in the backseats so it would make sense that the bronco 4 door would have something similar.

Any metrics on how much the sliding tailgate brings up the rear cargo floor to minimize the 4” drop?

This is just like my '99 Ford Explorer Sport....seats fold down but have a very slight incline.
