Best way to Protect a Bronco's Windshield?

Keep it in your driveway at all times ???

Had a road raging woman pull onto the right hand shoulder of I64 in Va yesterday, and pass everyone in the right hand lane at about 74 or more in a 65, pretty heavyish traffic, and she was flipping people off as she bolted away.

Long story short she threw up a shit load of gravel, and a couple pieces slammed into my windshield. I was sure I had a crack.


I didn’t !!!!!

It’s a damned good, riveting, feel good story in my opinion.

Buy one of those GOBI roof racks that have the bars that go down by the winshield and then go to Home Depot and buy a large piece of plexi glass and mount it to the bars right outside the windshield.

Ugh, six pages of mostly useless info. Replies of personal experiences on windshield damage that have nothing to do with the question or silly jokes. I'm right with you with the joking around but man. I wish we could vote on whether posts are helpful or not and be able to filter out the noise.

I can save future readers some time, most suggestions are either covering the windshield with plywood, DYNOflex or EXOShield. I don't think I missed anything else suggested.

Came across this thread ( 3000 mile cross country road trip in Bronco Badlands ) and wanted feedback on the best way to save a Bronco's windshield? Jeep is offering Gorilla Glass windshields as an option. Years ago a buddy had a FJ and cracks/chips/replacements was one of the reasons he traded it in.

Just curious.
