I use pool noodles this way in the winter and it does help. MIC 4door.
I was thinking about trying this first
You nailed it when you said "Wrong vehicle if you want quiet"!
Im not looking for quite, Ive driven noisy pieces of crap my whole life. Plus the flowmaster exhaust on this doesn’t help. But when you have a partner that gets overstimulated sometimes, I want to atleast give it a shot. Itll never be my raptor or her yukon, but hope it can be quiet for a bronco 😉

Ford had the tools 20 years ago. Ultrasonic gun show gaps, “smoke” machine does the same. On my Bronco I hear the Goodyears roaring and the wind noise from the top. The wind noise is louder.
Same, waiting for these crap tires to wear out, get something better

I wonder if there are analytical/design software simulators out there that can simulate the effects of wind on a vehicle that would allow contributions to be identified (similar to an electromagnetic 3D sim) only for car designers. Looking at my Bronco, the gaps on the hard roof seem small compared to things like the side mirrors, fender flairs, ... even the step up from the front window to the body. Wind noise is definitely loud, especially with a cross wind while driving at freeway+ speeds.

I believe back in the day....like 1980s....the only semi-accurate way to determine coefficient of drag and get a good idea of flow characteristics on design was via wind tunnel testing. I'd imagine they have computer simulations that get dang close these days. It's probably NOT a Play Store app, though. :) The Bronco would likely be classified as a bluff body.... meaning not aerodynamic.

Edit: Fun Fact...the Wright Bros had a sneaking suspicion figuring out this powered flight thing was NOT going to be easy...and there would be MANY fails along the way.... probably killing at least one of them. Since neither liked the idea of dying, those dudes invented the wind tunnel. Smart cookies.

yet another item you have to deal with for having a body on frame offroad capable convertible.

im keeping my eyes on defender 90’s when I get tired of it.
Be sure to get one of the newer, feminized, Defenders if you do. The older and more off road capable versions were every bit as noisy as the Bronco.
