That's a bad day for a couple of people. But one dude just out of frame to the right in the river seems to just keep on fish'n'. I can't see him, but I can see his rod tip working a jig or something. I don't know, but where I'm from, the fish might be a little "spooked" after that. Maybe you see things like that all the time fishing rivers in Asia.
"How was fishing today?"
"Really good! Another crane lifting a truck fell into the river. That always drives the fish nuts!"

Back when I worked in manufacturing, the company would take a line down for a month and go through a rebuild. A large crane was often needed to lift a worn out piece of equipment out of the building and replaced with a new one. Company employees were not allowed anywhere near that crane at any time. Only the crane company employees/operators were allowed and those guys did not fuck around. They did not lift anything until the operator in charge was happy that everything was good to go. Having been my only experience around large cranes, it is mind blowing how many crane toppling videos are out there.

As a crane operator myself I can speak a little about this. A basic rule of thumb is a 1 to 1 ratio distance to a slope or excavation. That slope looked about a 15-20 drop off, which means at a minimum the crane should have e 15-20 ft from the slope. He clearly wasn’t. The next think is I can guarantee it didn’t have enough cribbing/shoring/pads under the near side outriggers. No way would I have attempted that without a ground bearing pressure test as well. It was doomed from the start.

I saw that! Definitely a shit show! I'd really like to hear from the Bronco owner regarding how this worked out. I'm sure he's telling the crane company it was it top shape before they screwed up the recovery.

Might be someone unemployed now, but hopefully nobody got hurt.
