I’m surprised by number of comments about not using GOAT modes. But honestly, I don’t either. Is this over engineering by Ford or an inexpensive reliable feature to cover all potential users. Some are almost interchangeable by selecting 2WD or 4WD like sport/Baja. I've also seen comments that Eco does not get any better mpg around town than normal.
It's just software programming. Do it once and you can amortize the small development cost over 100's of thousands of vehicles. Compared to features like disconnecting sway bars it's basically free and great marketing.

Can only pick 4? I use 6 regularly.

Can I rip them out and actually have control of my vehicle that I bought? Where's that option?

Also twin-stick transfer case, please.
You do have control. You have the ability to put it in 4WD, 4A, and turn the lockers on/off without ever using a GOAT mode, along with turning TC and AdvanceTrac on/off.

What more control do you need?

Logic applied.
You've ruined the whole semi-luddite argument.

(Damn kids and their pong! We used a real ball and paddle!!!)

I didn't read ALL the threads, did someone actually call to remove them?

there are some things they do that I disagree with, such as engaging lockers. That's something that I think should always be turned on actively based on the situation.

Other stuff the goat modes do? I don't see them as a problem. Shift point adjustment? Probably useful to automatic owners. Throttle adjustment? I don't like that, but seems to be pretty popular these days. Just because I value consistency and they value adjustability doesn't mean either of us are wrong. As long as you are not forced to use that stuff, it shouldn't bother anyone that it exists for those people who want to use them.

The only time the goat modes bother me is when I am watching video reviews. "Let's put this thing in mud and ruts mode, and de-select the rear locker....here we go!" Homie, just put it in 4L and send it.

Yeah but I'd hate to be declined a warranty claim for doing that. When I'm off warranty I'll do it.
I guess it depends on your dealer. I have all modes to include towing and have been in twice for warranty and twice for recalls and they didn't say anything.

Sport when I’m feeling rambunctious.

Slippery when I’m on the Forest Roads, even though I don’t “need” four wheel drive, it keeps my backend from sliding around those turns.

Do you have any details of TC enhancement? I'd like to find something that allows TC but not Adv Trac in 4L.

EDIT: I see the chart above sys TC enhanced in Sand (which would match OMs advice to use Sand to get unstuck) and says sand is available in 4H and 4L, but I bet it disables in TC 4L, I'll give it a try
EDIT: I went out shifted into Sand, 4wd and locker engaged. Shifted to 4L while still in Sand, AdvTrac off warning showed as always with a low range shift, no way to really know what TC is doing

I don't really use them. Played with eco, but I don't like the change in throttle while operating the clutch. Messed with Baja and switch back to 2hi just for kicks. Other than that just 4lo and hero switches when I need them.

At the offroadeo, they told us that traction control was disabled for 4L. I don't know if the goat modes edit that at all.

Yeah... and my wife keeps saying I'm the head of the house too, but... 😂

What more control do you need?
People without manual transmissions shouldn't speak about how much control someone else needs.
