My guess... the crane not using it's outriggers. Or ground failure under the near side outrigger.

We had a crane collapse like that on campus where a worked back in the day. I know the guy operating it either got really injured or died, I can't remember. I think it came down to how they had buttressed it on a hill they were on, maybe it was too close to the slope? Kinda wondering how the Bronco got there in the first place.

This is why we have certified crane operators, though cranes going over is still fairly common.

looks like the out riggers were out, but probably using the edge of whatever they were on failed.
