2.3L/2.7L Roush Intake & Axle-Back Exhaust Sound Clips/Dyno Pulls

Hey All,

We just wrapped up some dyno testing and sound clips on the Roush Cold Air Intake and Axle-Back Exhaust on both the 2.3L and 2.7L Broncos.

2.3L picked up 7 HP
2.7L picked up 3 HP / 3 LB-FT

Not a ton of gains, but every little bit counts if you want to keep your factory engine calibration. Curious to know your thoughts and what other parts you'd like for us to test on the dyno next!

I usually expect $100 per 1hp, but thats $433/1hp.
If every ounce counts, I will expect at the very least an ounce of whatever the folks at Roush are smoking for asking that much for those parts.

Makes me question the power gains other manufacturers claim from what appear to be similarly designed axle back systems.

Not surprised that the Roush intake adds very little power, it's basically a new airbox, not a full cold air intake system.

$59.99 for a K&N filter in the OEM Cold airbox and I would bet it has the same HP gain

Ford didn't want to put 2 more cylinders under the Bronco's hood, so no matter what exhaust you install, it will always sound like a souped-up Civic.

I had to go look, The K&N Charge pipe is $299.99 and shows a 11.03 HP / 18.93lbft. gain on the dyno

Id stick with Mishimoto, high mount and charge combo, as they’re meant to work together and wont have issues like it seems k&n with everything else aftermarket
