2 door Heritage gunner hatch. What's this??

Noticed these extra panels on my 2 door Heritage on the inside of the roof.
There's one on each side.... Asymmetrical... One side is forward and the other side is rearward.
My guess is some structural reinforcing but why the screwed on metal plate?

Except one is beside the rack mount and the other side is forward of the rack mount...
Odd that they'd do that if that were the case.
Maybe just to add support when the portal cover is off?

As 604 said, no better way to see what's under there than to pop them off.
On a more important note, why haven't you detailed the build design and initial quality.
What size are the windows compared to a MIC top? How are they held in etc etc?
People with non removable windows want to know!
