Any recommendations?
Looking at Rough Country.
Looking for a Drop Step for lifted 2-door, so my Wife can get in.
(Purchased nice aftermarket set for my Frontier Pickup, but the brackets are rusting after 1-season, so looking for a quality product).

Thanks for the input!

Everything seems to be on backorder right now. I'm having problems just getting mine.

These are the N Fab nerf steps I'm pretty sure they're the same thing as the Rough Country ones. No idea how long they'll last but they were affordable and I like how they look and function.

Pretty easy to install?
Yes took about 45 mins, because I had to remove the OEM rock rails. Did it myself with no assistance. Install the front and rear brackets, then lay the step across the bracket arms and screw in each end to the arms.

Drawback is, you can't have the OEM rock rails and the side steps on at the same time.

That was my next question (aka, can the rock rails and side step coexist). Thanks for the input!

I wanted them to coexist too, but they can't. The step brackets use the same holes as the rock rails brackets. The step brackets don't hang low enough to get around the rock rails, and are too close to the body. The curvature of the step itself would hit the rock rails. Suppose you could fabricate your own step brackets, but I didn't want to do that much work.

Removing the rock rails exposes the pinch weld, which is ugly. So I covered the pinch weld with this

Thanks all!
I find a true step works the best. (I've slipped right off the running boards on several trucks).

Good thread. I'm looking to pick up something just to get me through the winter before I get some real rock sliders welded on. Getting up into the rig in the summer is no problem, but parked on ice might be hard without a step.
Westin for me would be a no. It looks too much like something that would get hung up on something. But if I really needed a step close to the ground, this would be it.
Havoc vs Rough Country Nerf steps I think I would go with Havoc as they are priced very close to each other, but Rough Country again looks like something that would get hung up on something.
If it was going to be permanent I would lean towards havoc.
But since it's just for this winter, I'll likely go with the value option from TAC whose side steps are good enough, and won't necessarily hang up on something.
