was backing out of a driveway while looking at the oncoming traffic...must not have closed the driver's side door all the way bc as i backed up
the door swung open and it got caught on an electric gate pulling the door in the wrong direction. Is this a "run to Ford" issue? I've just gone ahead and called my body shop bc I've just called my body shop.

the door is stuck - won't open bc the hinges seem to be damaged/bent?

Does anyone have any MacGyver ways of fixing it or getting to the door bolts etc somehow from outside the door? If i try and open the door it comes into contact w the front left fender .. Don't want that to get messed up, but i think in order to get the door 'unstuck'...we'll have to cause a little damage.

i was going to post in the 'what did you do w your bronco today" but was too mad at myself. so frustrated...

I have to say, there are cheaper/easier ways to take the doors off.

Edit: Yes, I am in fact, a world class a-hole. :ROFLMAO:

That sucks. Had a friend in middle school who would drive his stepfather's Audi when his parents weren't home. That was, until he backed it out of the garage straight into a basketball goal.
ugh i

I laugh to keep from crying. I almost had a guy in a parking lot take my door off a few weeks ago. I am hyper sensitive to my doors right now. #PTSD

I'm sorry to hear that - Thankfully, it would have been much worse.

Could you try "popping" or pulling the dent out? I think body shops use suction cups (you can buy them from an automotive store too). It may not fix it 100%, but it might make a considerable improvement.

However since you've called a professional bodyshop, I'd see what they have to say first. They're the experts.

I had something similar on my first car, a subcompact import. One part of the door hinge failed though the main hinges still worked. The shop forced the door closed, crushing in the front face of the door (that faces the hinges) and then lied about it.

Now the door would not open or close and it was moved forward enough to interfere with the fender, damaging both slightly. A body shop fixed all this and got the door lined up again properly.

I wouldn't force anything. Crawl in from the passenger side and take it to the shop. They'll figure it out.

thanks, appreciate it. Yeah I agree! Could have been so much worse, It’s sucks especially bc I had an appointment to lift next week tho! lol Ugh

apparently the doors are made of aluminum so they said it wouldn’t pop out like that, (no idea if this is true - I could totally

Yeah Sounds pretty close to what’s happened here except no lying. lol not even to say I was doing something cool! 😅 but if I do try and force anything it does feel like I’m going to damage the fender and hinges

I'm surprised that no one else has suggested this, but the fenders are removable, so just unbolt the fender and you should be able to open the door.
