EDIT: Tirerack updated the specs. The post has been edited to reflect the correct data.

Seems both Goodyears are C rated.

33” KO2 51 lbs vs 33” GY 45lbs vs 35” GY 52lbs.
EDIT: The 285/70R17 Goodyear appears Not severe snow service rated (initial specs in Tirerack showed severe snow rating, but it has been removed since)

Wish they had the diameters too, but good to know the pricing.

Treadwear is going to be the key question on these. The Duratracs last so long, and the blocking looks a little more open on the Duratracs.

We’ll see ...

I just purchased and had installed last week 9 each BFG 315/70R17...4 on the Raptor and 5 for the JL Wrangler. Nothing but positive experiences on wear and traction off road and on the snow as well as ride on the highway.

The Duratracs in 315/70R17 are 61 lbs (which are one of the lightest 315/70R17 tires) and these GY Territory MTs are 3lbs heavier but still would fall into the lighter side. The Duratracs area D rated tire though so for off road ing, that extra layer is probably an advantage. We shall see how these MTs hold up but so far I think they will be good. Hoping with that 3 extra lbs the tread wear is even better than Duratracs.

I just put a set of P285/70-17 Kenda Klever AT2s on my Gladiator. They weigh in at 45lbs each. The LT version of the same tire is 54lbs. Funny thing is the P rated has a load rating of 3197lbs while the LT is only 2469. You would think the LT would have a higher load rating. Several tire manufacturers are the same way with the P rated version having a higher load rating.

I was all about getting Duratracs until I read numerous reviews that they are not that good on wet roads and susceptible to hydroplaning

I think something is wrong with the Tirerack posted weight for the GY 315/70R17 Territory MT. How can it be 3 lbs. heavier with it being a C load tire than GY Duratracs that are D load tires? We’ll have to wait and see, but 57lbs for those would be about right given the 285s are 51 lbs.

Depends what they are. Wing compared to. The Duratracs are probably beer than most true off road tires on wet roads it probably worse than more car tread type tires.

Most of the comparisons I read were to Falken Wildpeaks, Toyo Open Country AT3s and Cooper Discovery AT3s. Which were all rated much better on wet road conditions. True they don't have as much of a deep and aggressive tread as the Duratracs. But they are all AT tires.

That makes sense as those are more road friendly than the Duratracs.

KO2's are old tech and they don't clear out well in the mud.

I was at Usal Beach area a few months ago trail riding with my buddy who's got a Tacoma with KO2's. His tires were not clearing out and he was struggling. Conditions were wet and muddy. It rained a lot the night before.

Newer all terrains like Toyo AT3 have tons of tech designed in them so even tho they have larger spacing between shoulder lugs compared to KO2's, they still ride really smooth and quiet on the street. Best of both worlds.

IMHO better tires out there than KO2's.

IMHO ko2s are pretty weak, they are good on the street besides wet traction but chunk real bad when hitting the trails hard. They also clog with mud and leave you with slicks. I'm barely getting 15-20k out of a set with very hard offroad use 10% of the time.
