Thanks for all the info. Just picked up and programmed my extra key fob today on the first try!

I went ahead and held down the start/stop button on the last step (second to last if you count pressing the brake/clutch and starting the car after the programming successful display message pops up) with the un-programmed remote control in the backup slot, which did the trick for me ;-)
I also had 'em face down (buttons down, bronco up) and matching the cutout slot orientation. Just took out the keys before hand so I didn't have to remove any key rings attached. Left the sticker on the new one so it wouldn't get mixed up.

It was in Settings -> Vehicle -> MyKey -> MyKey Information where I found the popup that confirmed Admin Keys:3 and MyKeys:0, fyi.
I held down the start/stop button the first few times, but didn't start my Bronco and the programming didn't take. I couldn't lock or unlock the doors. But everything worked fine when I used the new fob to start my Bronco. And that's when I got the confirmation that programming was successful.

I agree that buttons up or down probably doesn't make much difference.

Programmed an eBay third fob using the above process. If I lose a key, I'll do another. Can't ever see myself using a key blade, so skipping that cost.

One member on here bought a blank key blade and left it blank. He programmed the fob as a MyKey with a speed limit. He gives that to valets. They can't access the glove box or center console if they've been locked. The blade key also allows you to put the fob on a key chain.

Or you could just remove the blade key and give the valet the fob. Probably easiest if it's not programmed as a MyKey.

M2DZ15K601C is for a Bronco with remote start.
M2DZ15K601A is what I had to order, Badlands with manual transmission.

Pull out the metal key. Look next to the slot to pry open the fob to replace the battery. You'll see the part number in very tiny white print. You'll need a magnifying glass. The suffix is most important.

I posted more information here.

Thank you, sir.
I was barely able to read the number, and the spare fob had a sticker on it with a larger print of the part number: M2DT-15k601-AB.

Alas, it doesn't show up, even without dashes. Perhaps it isn't available yet.

I found your key for $30 at another site, they also don't have mine: https://www.oemfordpartsdirect.com/oem-parts/ford-transmitter-m2dz15k601a

Don't worry about the final "B." All three of mine have M2DT-15k601AB printed on them. Even the one I just ordered. The invoice said M2DT-15k601A. Also every dealer website I've seen says M2DT-15k601A. Also the dashes don't seem to mean anything.

Does anyone know if this key blank will work with a 24? The amazon listing says Bronco 2020-2022.

I was at my dealer today. I asked if they could order me a Fob. They said sure....it would be $278. Then I showed them the link to this fob for $45. They confirmed that part would work for my rig but they couldn't order it for me....but recommended I order it myself.

My dealer did say they would cut my blank for $15 (they could order me a blank for $67).

They also offered me the service of programming for just $80. I kind of want to ask if they could re-install my bronco roll up tool bag for $12 while it's in the shop. SMH

I will defintely take them up on the $15 key cutting offer. Thank you for tracking these links and instructions down. It's way better than the $400 key my dealer was offering with a courtesy smile.

M2DT-15k601-AB is an engineering number
M2DZ-15K601-A is the corresponding service part number for it.

You need to order the service part number.

There is a bar code tag attached to my spare key fob. It's got a five digit number and says "SAVE FOR CUSTOMER RECORDS," but the numerical pattern doesn't seemto match my key profile. Is that the code?
Yes that is the code, look up the code to get the cuts.

In case anyone is still confused,An uncut key blank is only good to keep the fob connected to a key ring. The first day that your Bronco has a dead battery will be the day you realize leaving that key uncut was one of the dumbest things you will have ever done.

Is the part number different for a 2024 with remote start?
