Greetings,

I have a non-Sasquatch Black diamond. It has a rear locker and 4.46 gears. I got my hands on a Badlands 4.46 locking front differential. How do I delete the codes that I will get once my front axle disconnect is unplugged? Can I use the as built data from a non squatch badlands with forscan? If so is it the AWD module I am using?

Making the locker function is a simple connection but I want to make sure I am going to be able to get this done right before I jump in.

Thanks!

So far, all of us who have done this and reported it on this forum, have ultimately resorted to buying the Ford ProCal tune to reprogram the Bronco to not look for it. One guy left his FAD plugged in to the harness and zip-tied to the frame for a while but eventually did the Ford Tune. As far as I know, nobody has figured out a way to do it in Forscan.

I haven't had a chance to swap my 4.46 axle in just yet, so I haven't done a writeup on this. But I have done testing with actual parts on my Bronco and have been able to find a way to delete the FAD without procal and do factory hero switch and harness integration and did a test where I triggered the locker solenoid with no codes and all dash button light and cluster indicators and goat modes work as factory. It's fairly simple.

You will need a used AWD module and
in Forscan you need to save your asbuilt from the AWD module your vehicle came with.

For just FAD delete you need a used/junkyard AWD module out of either wildtrak/Sasquatch/badlands. Must be a used one because a brand new one will be blank. Install the used module and then you need to load your asbuilt configuration you saved from the AWD module your vehicle came with into the used/junkyard one.

If you want to do the factory integration also with hero switch then you need the hero switch and to get the harness(theres a different harness for 2.3 and 2.7)and then the theres a forscan change you need to make in the AWD module and in the IPC module.

I think @Snacktime may have accomplished this but he ended up buying a pre-programmed AWD module from eBay

Can I get away with only buying the tuner or do I need to buy the tuner with the performance tune?

You need the Ford Performance tune as it includes the software update, the ProCal is just the installation device. That said, since I posted, others have chimed in with various schemes to defeat the issue, so maybe try those if you're willing to do some tinkering. But for the quick "just pay the damned ransom and get it over with" solution, yeah you need the Ford Performance tune.

this could be done with FDRS if the part numbers match between models.

Did you have a voucher number for a Ford performance front axle? Or did you use a used one?

I may do some digging around next week and see if I can dig one up - I don’t have a m210 or anything to require a FAD delete (and I do have a FAD) but it wouldn’t hurt my feelings at all if it didn’t work anymore…

I bought a used axle and just told the ProCal software it was the Ford Performance FDU.

I did this already. It works. I bought one from a wildtrak and put it in my base, I unplugged the fad harness and I was able to switch into 4wd with no errors. You need to forscan change on the donor AWD module to switch it from advanced transfer case to part time transfer case. I also have swapped the front locker harness in and the hero switch and a couple forscan changes and I connected the harness to a locker solenoid and have been able to trigger the solenoid with no errors, all the goat modes work as intended and the cluster showed the locker on. I do have an m210 waiting to go in but haven't swapped it in.
