exactly, its the fact that ADV will do the FINAL ASSEMBLY and make damn well sure that the product meets their standard is important.True, and my post was in no way meant to justify ADVs marketing these tops as USA made.
It was more to point out that Made in China doesn't necessarily meant crap, any more that Made in USA automatically means quality...
Totally agreed, my point, China is well known for little to no patent protection and a track record of "borrowing" and reselling someone else's design.True, and my post was in no way meant to justify ADVs marketing these tops as USA made.

How does a knockoff, made in China, become a knockoff of a product (allegedly) already made in China?
You and your witchcraft of words!
ADV tops have to be assembled together, from what I've heard. I'm assuming it's "connect the top to the sides and install the glass." Sounds pretty simple.Honest question that I'm hoping someone can chime in on.
I have heard the final assembly by ADV a few times but I have also heard customers will have to assemble the top as well. Has any light been shed on what will be assembled by ADV and what the customer can be expected to do assembly wise?
It'll ship packed flat, so the two side pieces and rear window/panel will need to be bolted onto the top panel to "assemble" the rear section.Honest question that I'm hoping someone can chime in on.

From what a culled out of the videos, it looks like the 2 pieces of the top are fitted together and filled with closed cell foam in California. It'll ship packed flat, so the two side pieces and rear window/panel will need to be bolted onto the top panel to "assemble" the rear section.
(As I understand it anyway).
They had sent out a list of needed tools to complete assembly/installation a while back. Mostly Torx drivers/wrenches
I'm not exactly sure what "final" (semi-final) assembly ADV is actually doing.
I assume installing glass and rubber gaskets.
What is the formula to determine the equivalent of "1 hour to assemble"From what a culled out of the videos, it looks like the 2 pieces of the top are fitted together and filled with closed cell foam in California.
China appears to be making all the fiberglass parts . Ergo the Final ASSEMBLY In California.
Foam, glass, molding. Then it is packed and shipped out to the customers who put the 2 sides and the rear on.
The install video would be nice to see, I see believe that the top is placed upside-down and then the 2
Sides and the back are attached. The entire top is then righted and guided into t he existing hole mounts on the bronco. EXACTLY LIKE YOU WOULD ATTACH THE OEM. John had said he timed himself and it took 1 hr. Of course you need at least 2 people to safely pick it up and position it.
Exactly like the oem install on you tube.
I'm going to get as many people, hopefully 2 on each side to get it in
Once it goes on it ain't coming off
That's the final final. Like a fireworks show or a concert it is hard to guess the final final.Honest question that I'm hoping someone can chime in on.

Hopefully ADV will do final/full assembly, then partial disassembly for shipping, so "final" re-assembly?That's the final final. Like a fireworks show or a concert it is hard to guess the final final.
Yea h, ha ha, I figure 1 and a half hours to fully remove the soft top and related hardware that goes with it.What is the formula to determine the equivalent of "1 hour to assemble"
to "Delivering in late 2022"?
